A better K/D ratio. I understand that earlier on in my Halo Reach career that I did not do as well and I might not have taken my K/D seriously. Either way, in my past few games ( Click Here and Scroll Down to view ) I managed to step up my game and recieve decent K/D ratios. I just wish my K/D ratio represented more of what I accomplished in these games.

Now I know posting this is a little... "self-absorbed" but I was wondering if there is anyone else out there that feels the same way I do. Like you are not getting the credit you deserve.

I also know posting this will probably promote a lot of flaming, trolling, etc. Honestly I don't care.

I would hope not to see this but I would not be surprised if there are such responses as lolK/D and things of that nature. To those who think that, I respect your opinion but this topic is about that.

Why worry about what it represents? Just do well in your current games and people will respect you just fine. Worrying about some number is pointless.

It isn't our shiznit anymore.

That's the problem with aggregate statistics; you influence your K/D the most in the beginning of your gaming. The difficulty in affecting your stats gets exponentially harder the more games you play. That is why it pays to play with full parties when the game first comes out so you can stomp randoms and inflate that K/D to high heaven.

I think a better system would be an aggregate of your past hundred or so games. I never understood why the game would take into account my performance from years ago when calculating my current skill level. That would be similar to taking an athlete's performance from the last Olympics into account when deciding who wins this current tournament.

You will get what you deserve. Players do not magically jump large amounts of skill in no time at all, an increase in playing ability is a gradual process. Sure, it may be more difficult to increase the stats when you have several thousand games played, but you barely have one thousand. If you deserved a better k/d you would have a better k/d. Simple.
