Subject: Bloom..

I strongly dislike bloom. It screwed up matchmaking a lot, along with other things that were put into reach. However, I just connected a few thoughts, and I think that-

*zips up flamesuit*

I am not a fan of bloom, however the mechanics for Halo: Reach were built around it, therefore it should stay in the game.

Feel free to post, perhaps even enlighten me, I will defend my point unless otherwise convinced.

I'm going to invade your heart like a barn swallow high on milk chocolate and grandma love.

Fairness is only possible within the limited powers of man. Elsewhere, there is only chance.

Thus I refute thee.

Don't really understand how mechanics were built around bloom. I don't really notice it while playing as I still enjoy the game without it.

I'll say this again.

Zero bloom doesn't work with Reach's movement physics.

Edit: Let me elaborate. Reach's physics, even when set to "classic" style movement, does not allow for proper strafing like in previous titles. It's like when you dodge left and right, you're suddenly swimming in Jell-o and can't maintain full speed.

Therefore making ZB gunplay suck IMO because most of the time if you get the first shot you're guaranteed the kill. ZB sounded good to me but after experiencing it I have the opinion that it simply doesn't fit in Reach.

Reduced bloom pretty much allows for close to mid range spamming to still be effective.

The hitscan DMR on larger maps would be insanely unbalanced without bloom. I think that bloom should maybe start having a "spread" at a longer range.

Didn't Halo CE's pistol have bloom?

No.

And anyone who tells you that bloom is in that game either doesn't know what bloom is, or never played HCE.

No one told me I was just wondering, as it wasn't 100% accurate if you fired very quickly.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

85% is what Reach should have had within the first month or so of release.

That's right.

There was a slight randomness to the firing patterns, but it's not bloom. The spread doesn't increase. The reticle does not expand.

That's why I facepalm every time someone says bloom was in HCE

So basically... Waypoint is pro-vanilla?

Waypoint isn't pro-anything so much as they're just anti-intelligence.
