I disagree, Halopooper. Founding a clan and accepting members based solely upon skill isn't the best approach.
Take my clan, for example. My clan's made up ENTIRELY of people who joined out of free will, not because of their skill first and foremost. In other words, HMC2's accepted everyone from the seasoned, war-hardened vets to the newbies who've just began playing. We're not the best clan in the world as far as skill, I'll admit, but we've kept our members within the clan for longer than most other clans have. HMC2 has outlasted the expected lifespan of a clan, and it only seems to be getting better as it goes, which is, I think, more than most can say about their clans.
We've got a low turnover rate, meaning that those who come are almost always those who stay. Our clan members are happy and proud to wear the tag, and they, most importantly, have fun working together as a team.
Long speech over, my point is this, your clan shouldn't be about pwning more than everyone else on the battlefield, nor should it be about winning each and every match they enter into. Clans should be about having fun and fostering a community for people to belong to.
