What you see with me is what you get. I would rather be hated for what I am than loved for something that I'm not.

I am who I am, not who you want me to be. Your approval isn't needed and your opinion isn't required or desired.

I want to buy one on the iTunes store but I'm not sure which one. Which one do you guys best recommend?

Ghost of Onyx was my favourite of all of them.

We’re flawed because we want so much more. We’re ruined because we get these things and wish for what we had.

If you haven't read any before, then The Fall of Reach.
Otherwise Cryptum.

Be nice to noobs..Remember even MLG players were noobs at one point.

Go in order:

The Fall of Reach
The Flood
First Strike

At least for those three after that you can read the others in just about any order.

I ♥ Bungie!

Ghosts of Onyx dude.

The Fall of Reach for sure. It's a must read for those interested in the extended universe. If you continue to read more books then get First Strike, Ghosts of Onyx, Cryptum and Primordium in that order.

"The boss of bosses, and the supreme representative of the Magog Cartel, Molluck the Glukkon was head of RuptureFarms 1029.

Molluck was completely obsessed with success, the Glukkon way. Single-minded and highly intelligent, he was the head of his class and loyal to the family in every way. He was devoted and a true believer in the pursuit of wealth. No odd disaster or mishap could bend the determination of such an obsessed and driven individual."

The Flood,my first and favorite ^.^ ,but if you want chronological order then get Fall of Reach.

Start with The Fall of Reach, or maybe Ghosts of Onyx. Nylund's best Halo novels, in my opinion.

Oly Oly Oxen Free

I'd start with fall of reach, then if you have a taste for it go for contact: harvest as it has some good character exposition on johnson, truth, the brute race and tartarus' role within it, not to mention the viewpoint of the covenant and a yet unmatched amount of time describing the nature of engineers, their physiology, their conventions, their very nature.

Then, i'd hit first strike, ghosts of onyx, and don't forget to give cole protocola read - i know it takes a lot of heat but there is worthwhile stuff in there, and you get some healthy jackal exposition as well as seeing how Spartans fare being covert (obviously not saying the SII's didn't utilise brains over brawn, just grey team get more air time than just fight scenes)

That said, if you don't read a lot, maybe start with Evolutions I/II. They're not the best but they're shorter, and would act as a literary entree of sorts, getting you in the mood for some hefty bookworming.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Halo: Evolutions might be good since it's a mix of different stories and you can see what you like.

I personally liked all the books except for The Flood, which was still OK.

Halo the fall of reach

Halo ghost of onyx

Pick one.

Apart from chronolgical order etc, the best book to start off with is definately Fall of Reach.
It's the best book to introduce you to the characters and underlying story archs that flow in and throughout the other books.

Then proceed with First Strike and Ghosts of Onyx for continuity and quality's sake, before moving on to the more "story expanding" books like Cryptum, Evolutions (series of short stories you can also find on Waypoint as motion comics), and such.

Thanks guys! I guess I'll get The Fall of Reach.

Reach beats GoW!
Reach beats CoD!!
Reach beats everything!!!

FOR, then Cryptum. Though you caould entirely skip everything in the series and just read Cryptum and then Primordium, since they are easily the best Halo novels, and might even be the best video game licensed novels out there.

Mind you, though, they will be very hard to follow if you're not acquainted with the backstory of the games.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

Fall of Reach, 2010 edition. Start from the beginning. You should then buy The Flood, First Strike, Ghosts of Onyx, Glasslands, and if you can understand them enough, the Forerunner Trilogy. BTW, GoO is a VERY good read. But if you like short stories, try Evolutions. One of them really adds more fear factor to the Flood.
