Halo 4 E3 trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9iQiHNXgMU

So, an unknown Bungie employee had leaked some details about Halo 4. To start with the planet seen in the trailer is dubbed "Sigma 7" it is a forerunner panetoid that has been known to ONI (The Office of Naval Intelligence) for some time. The environments will span across land, sea and space and the battles will be larger than ever. There will also be many weapons and vehicle (a warthog with anti-gravity jets may be seen) not seen thus far in the Halo universe. The game will be focused on player choice and will feature customization unseen in any other Halo game, allowing you to tailor your weapons and suit to your liking. No multiplayer details have been revealed. These were just the main points.

The three novels released in August of last year also hint at possible story elements.

Even though this most likely fake, I just hope we don't get to customize weapons or be similiar to COD. Reach was already pushing the limit to being more like COD.

  • 01.23.2012 9:55 PM PDT

Bungie has NOTHING to do with the project. What do you gain from lying to us?

How is Reach like COD?

Hell, how is weapon customization patented to Call of Duty? Why does everything revolve around it?

The system would be far more similar to the Crysis 2 in game menu thing.

And hell, Halo needs change. People are already starting to criticize it for being the same, although rather unfairly.

Outside of Matchmaking, why would anyone complain? It may even work in Invasion.

Also OP, the guy who posted this originally got perma banned...

343i (as in, the company you should have said instead of Bungie) already confirmed this as bull -blam!- half a year ago.

Reach is so much like CoD or any modern shooter and look where it got it? Right down at number 9 most played after a year.

Me and my friends are diegard Halo fans, but we all agree if Halo 4 is anything like Reach we wont be playing Halo again. And neither will anybody else given evidence on Reach.
Yes Halo needs change, back to Halo 3 not to a Halo CoD hybrid.

Reach beats GoW!
Reach beats CoD!!
Reach beats everything!!!

This was legit up until the pre-Alpha version of the game. This storyline included the planet being known by ONI and used as a base, and all elements such as the anti-grav warthog were either scrapped or reworked.

This was about a month before Halo Fest last year. Thus, this is fake.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

Who do you think wrote the story bible? Not to mention that Bungie was going to make Halo 4 once they were done with Halo 3, but went with Reach instead. No doubt they gave 343i basic gameplay and story ideas they had planned.

Ah, tis fake. Anyway, the whole anti-grav Warthog and boats sounded cool. 343i should put those in Forge 3.0. Could you imagine Forge World having Boats?

Living in the past is a luxury none
of us can afford. We must learn from
it, but we cannot live there. It is
impossible to plan for the now
the present is ever fleeting. The
future is where we must live the
future is what we must plan for.

I agree it appears fake but don't let 343 calling it bull completely dissuade you from thinking its possible. I personally will give it a second look if the toy convention today has a warthog without wheels...

It's good to know that 343 blatantly denies rumours, that way, when they refuse to comment, we'll know for sure is real stuff yes..

No reach is not even close to cod. You can only argue about the perks, still not cod. You guys diss reach because you don't like change. I think sprint should be a default on h4. All the other abilities can leave or be turned into the classic power-ups.

Overshield should be brought back and invisiblity. Also, they should be even better than before. Overshield doesn't have to be armor lock. Anyways, reach is not -blam!- cod! You just made cuz chief wasn't in this game xp.

This kind of invalidates your argument... The fact that you acknowledge the fact that Reach has changed the fundimental Halo gameplay is a definite indicator that it's being pushed more towards the more generic FPS games on the market.

We don't need change. Halo's tried and true formula worked just fine from Halo CE - ODST, then Reach completely changed it. Equipment was tolerable in Halo 3 because it had a long respawn time (around 45 seconds to 1 minute), but AAs are utterly ridiculous. It convoluted the gameplay completely by removing strategic gameplay and the need for teamwork.

For example, with a jetpack, there's suddenly no point in getting the high ground because anyone can just fly up and take it. In the previous games you had to work with your team to take a strategic position, be it the Sniper spot on Lockout or the enemy base on Avalanche.

The fact that Master Chief wasn't in Reach has absolutely nothing to do with the dislike towards the gameplay, in fact my favourite Halo game is ODST and that only has 2 characters from the trilogy in it [Truth and Johnson] and they're only in it as cameos.

You do understand that the game must evolve, though, right? Keep the core focus of strategic team work and all that there, but allow the game to expand. If Halo 4 doesn't evolve, it'll just finish off what Reach started, which is to say, the franchise's reputation.

Of course I understand it has to evolve, the transition from Halo 2's gameplay elements to Halo 3's with equipment went over just fine with me. I have absolutely no problem with that, but advantageous abilities that anyone can use every 10 seconds that messes up the core values of Halo's gameplay is something that needs to be done away with.

Makes sense--I see the arguments, but never had any problems with AAs myself. Probably because I don't like relying on others in the first place so I always generally stuck with rumble pit.

Which is ironically less satisfying then team slayer in Reach imo for some reason, despite the lessened team orientation.

It's position on the charts does not reflect the content of the game itself.

Also, expect to see Halo 4 behind Call of Duty Black Ops 2.

A bible which they gave up on. 343i now writes the new testaments and will add on to the story.

I originally wouldn't let me post the link b/c it said I was adding text extending characters. Not quite sure what that means... Apperently this was old, before Bungie and Microsoft split. As for this being more like CoD, I think it will be more like an XP point system where you would level up attributes of your armor and weapons. That is if any of what is said is true, which I never said; hence Possible SPOILERS part of the title.
