I was wondering if anyone knew some good classical music artists that they could recommend to me. I've listened to Mozart, Beethoven, Bach and Sabasian. Any old or new classical composers are accepted. You can also recommend specific songs too. Maybe they're by one of the composers I mentioned above but I havent listened to that certain symphony, orchestra, ect.

Please don't start talking about any other types of music please. I just want suggestions for classical music tracks only. Also, if you like classical music, you can discuss it here.

And please, NO FLAMING or SPAMMING!

I've listened to Carmina Burana before. Is Orff's different or is it the pure version?

Hmm, the lyrics were put together by 15th century monks (if I remember correctly). But they didnt compose music to the lyrics. So you could be right as to Orff being the composer, I'm not sure.

Get all nine of Beethoven's symphonies if you don't already have them. The best ones are the 3rd, 7th, 8th, and 9th (and not the ode to joy part of the ninth - the first movement is awesome).

If you really like Beethoven, check out Brahms. He has a similar style. Especially look into his 1st and 3rd symphonies.

Good classical music is Haydn. I prefer him to Mozart a lot.

If you think Romantic music is good, try Rachmaninov and Mendelssohn. The main thing with Romantic music, however, is that it's such a broad style that you really have to just "shop around" as such, especially if you are just starting to get into music (I mean real music). Try and look for something that you like, and then see what else there is that's similar. A good guide to sometimes go by is geography - for example, Russian composers like Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov have similar styles, so if you're into that, look for other Russians.

Good luck to you!

- Reiginko

Good picks Reiginko. Tchaikovsky all the way. 1812 overture's beginning is a personal favorite of mine. I'll have to download some Beethoven off of iTunes sometime...

I have to say, go with Tchaikovsky. He has a very unique style of composure, but maybe that's just my opinion.

Finally, a thread about good music. I'd say follow what Reiginko said up above. Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn, and Haydn are some of my favourites.

hehe, Don't worry Man with Candy. Besides, classical, I'm a rocker. I listen to all the oldies like Skynyrd, Zepp, AC DC, Van Halen, ect. By the way, Jimmy Page rules.

But now back to the discussion, thanks for all the suggesstions everybody has submitted. When I get the chance I'll take a look for these artists. Thanks.
