I'm one of those storm chasers that will never have a TV show because I don't scream at clouds.

The chief will wake up in a modern loony bin and realize it was all a dream.

"This is the way the world ends", says Cortana.

Remember the Halo 2 trailer? "Betcha can't stick it!", said Cortana. Not only was that a slightly kinky double entendre, but it was not in the game at all. My guess is that the trailer is what will happen if MC fails.

Master Chief fights his way into the Ark to stop Truth from activating all the remaining Halo rings in the galaxy, while the Arbiter and his allies attempt to destroy the giant Covenant fleet that now surround Earth. He kills Truth, but finds that Cortana has been corrupted and is going to attempt to activate the rings anyway and kill everyone. While the Arbiter and his fleet, along with the remaining humans, fight the last battle to save Earth from the Covenant, Master Chief must somehow find a way to stop Cortana and defeat her. In the end, Master Chief defeats Cortana and brings her back to her senses before she her program finally breaks down from the corruption (and the fact that her life expectancy as an A.I. has been drastically shortened from all the information she has absorbed). Before Cortana fades away, she reveals to Master Chief that she can't stop the sequence and sobbingly apologizes for betraying him. Master Chief, alone, with his best friend gone and all life on the brink of destruction, sacrifices his life somehow to stop the activation and destroy the Ark (the aftermath of which might be the complete self-destruction of the remaining Halo rings, or just that they would become powerless). The Arbiter, grunts, hunters, and humans, all deeply moved by Master Chief's sacrifice to save them, are impassioned as they drive back the remaining Covenant. The Covenant defeated, the humans and their allies form a new covenant, one of peace and brotherhood. Master Chief is recorded as the greatest hero in history, and as a martyr who sacrficed himself to save not only his own race, but all the races of the galaxy, and all races to come...

MC will trip, and fall into the crator, which he can't get out of. Thats the whole game MC jumping around a crator trying to get out of it (the Ark is closed with a busy sign on it)
