cool. i wanna do my my review of all the guns.
Assalt Rifle // AR
this weapon is best suited for close-medium range combat as a secondary weapon. its large clip and ability to basically never miss from ranges make it a fearsom opponent to the pistol and shotgun. its fast melee makes the transision from another weapon to the AR seamless. against anything at a longer range, this weapon falls apart, and backpack reloading is damn near mandatory. when going against an AR, get very close with a shotgun or PLAsma weapon or very far away with a more suitable weapon. best paired with the pistol.
M6d // Teh Pistol
the one and only medium ranged weapon in the game is a powerhouse due to being uncontested. stationary snipers and campers are killed with ease. leading is everyhting, so remember that defensively. the weapon's biggest weakness is when an enemy charges from a short distance away while sidestepping left and right as an entire clip can be wasted shooting the wall. the other flaw is the slow melee time, easily alieviated with just about any other gun. and although its capable of automatic fire- DON'T! and remmeber, this weapon works well against tanks and unsuspecting drivers.
shotgun // Shotty
the powerhouse of closerange combat. bam, its dead. just rememeber to lead shots a bit when at extremely close ranges or you may forfiet your gun. hands down the best secondary weapon out there becasue of the fast melee, quick draw, and raw power. ideal with a pistol or sniper, but uncommonly good with the Plasma rifle.
Sniper Rifle // Sniper
overpowered... with practice. the only flaws are the small clip and slow reload. but the sniper must lead his shots as well. this gun isnt best paried with any other gun. they are all good. just take the time to get good with it and it becomes the center of every map. if you see a sniper mssing from its spawn, keep moving erratically in any open-ish areas. against a tank, it is as easy as shooting fish in a barrel.
SSM Launcher // Rocket Launcher
if you miss, you die. but its very hard to miss. watch out for plasma rifles, pistols, snipers, and frags as they all mean death. defensively, you best bet other than the pistol is a frag. if thrown well and soon enough, the blast can throw the players aim off tremendously, possible for a good ol' self kill. also awesome against tanks and hogs.
Fragmentation Grenades // Frags
these can ruin anyones day. if you see bodies laying around with a bunch of frags, spam the heck out of you enemy from afar. a headshot with the pistol is an easy kill after a well placed nade. throwing them beind overcharged shots makes them damn near invisible. and they allow double melees, so keep em handy for the lesser weapons in the game. plus this is the ultimate hog crusher- er, flipper.
Needle Gun // Needler
damn near worthless. impossible to hit aware opponents and has a very slow melee. as a crappy sniper it is "OK", but with all the weapons laying around maps and all the nades, surely you can find something better. defensivle, sidestep to avoid all hits. offensivle, frags are your best friend. just lay them out all over the place, and with a good hit or a nigh stationary opponent afraid of the nades, the needles should find their home.
Plasma Pistol // "Pea Shooter"
the invincible underdog of closerange combat. this weapon has the fastes stunning rate of fire, two modes of fire, the fastest melee, the quickest draw, and the most ammo. although it may appear weak to the untrained eye, it is a valuable weapon in combat. circle strafing and using regular fire is an easy kill at close ranges, as you opponents best bet is to croutch as quickly as possible. at longer ranges the charge shot has powerful homing abilities and the guessing game of "which way will the enemy strafe" ensues. using the twitch fire on a stationary enemy is a very quick way to kill shields. and grenades are you best friend. just remeber, this gun is meant to be a secondary. against vehicles, the charged shot will kill the drivers shields so a simple headshot or nade will finish a driver off. if their is no driver, the next guy in line loses his shields.
Plasma Rifle
the alien powerhouse against shields, though dont underestimate its damage to the health. it only takes 4 automatic shots to kill the shields, and only 5 to kill all of a player's health. this gun has accuracy, is on par with the AR in power(at the peak of the AR's power), but is very limited beyond killing one man. the quick overheat(meaning less accuracy and slower rate of fire) and long cooldown make short controlled bursts ideal. best paired with a human weapon for finishing opponents from afar(hint: shotgun, pistol) or fast melee weapons for finishing up close with a well times switch-melee. but this weapon can most certainly hold its own in close combat from shotgun totting OS'ed opponents to rocketwhores. just watch out for the plasam pistol- its your worst enemy at short ranges.
Plasma Grenades // Plasmas "Stickies"
i think these things are worthless in HaloCE. if you stick an enemy, great, but that usually implies that your enemy didnt see the plasma coming, hence an obstruction, hence you could have just thrown a frag in the corner and then killed your enemy in one shot- rather than needlessly running away from your enemy like a pansy. against vehicles is the only place these shine, as they kill -blam!- better than a frag. of course you can shoot these baddies around corners and whatnot...
