I had a few friends over and the first thing we did was jump into Blood Gulch to check it out. What amazed us most of all was when we looked down and could see individual blades of grass. For some reason that single instance stands out in my mind the most, those were good times.

well first i think the first time we all played halo was at a friends house...anyways my first time playing halo was at a friends house and i didn't look away from the screen i mean it was so cool shooting a grunt in the head head with a pistol and head shoting a elite from 100 yards away with a 50 cal it has it's own satisfation when you do all of that and that's why ive been playing halo and halo 2 for 3 or 4 years.

The lack of sleep I got that night.

-Was in the 6th grade when Halo came out.
-Played it at a friend's house...the grunts looked like monkeys to me....I hated it.
-Next week, played multiplayer....I thought it was alright.
-3 years later...bought an Xbox and Halo.
-Became the pwner of Halo in the neighborhood.
-Bought Halo 2....was dissapointed in the games foundation of physics and stability.(texture "poping")
-Condemned Halo 2 to hell...gave away the game.
-Drifted away from Halo for a year or two.
-Now back playing Halo 1 on the 360.
-Now back to my Halo 1 pwning self.

-PS-Don't let H3 suck...being the last Halo...it should not. Come on Bungie!

texture "poping" , that may be the dumbest thing I ever heard.

by the way, i'm taking a break from the group, i have to go take a s'hit.

The first memory that I have, which all of us should have, is the training sequence. I was so confused, because it was the first FPS I had ever played. When they did the check for inverted, and then said 'put your reticule over the green light' I must've held up for about five minutes, and I got so disoriented...

My first significant Halo memory was on 343 guilty spark, as I think it was the most prominent level in the game. Watching that cut scene got me so scared, and then when you started playing again, and you heard the doors being banged open. I was like 'oooooh -blam!-' 'oooooooh -blam!-'.

What a good game, I tried playing it once, afer I had played Halo 2, and realized how much worse the graphics and physics engine were. It's still cool though.

One game I'm not joking a little like 7 year old said and I quote " tell me what your dick looks like so I can imagine it in my head and beat off to it"

If Team Swat became ranked, would there still be no shields?

Amazing!

Texture popping has nothing to do with the physics.

Typical moron.

XBL Gamertag - the elements600

I remember seeing the xboxes in the shops and just laughing at how big and clunky they looked compared to it's competitors. A few days afterwards my friend across the road got himself an xbox with halo and persuaded me to play it. I loved it. We played the first mission and then some multiplayer. I was amazed what what this big black box could do! The week after it was my birthday and with the money I went straight back to the shops to get one!

I remember I was playing co-op at my friends house on his cousins Xbox. It was Assault on the Control Room and I thought the the vehicles were really awesome. That's when I got hooked and bought an Xbox ASAP.

Five Tenets of Bungie.net Forum Life:
1. Trolls will always be well fed.
2. Blame-ability thy name is stosh.
3. Bungie has no control over retail prices.
4. Watch out for low-flying defense drones.
5. Seven is not optional, but rather, an inevitability.

I remember the nine hour Campaign marathon, playing the Pillar of Autumn first and making my way to The Library, playing with my brother-in-law. Both of us didn't know what they hell we were doing, but that didn't stop us.

Some key moments were:

-Using the Sniper Rifle to defend a group of Marines from Covenant dropship parties on the Halo level.

- Taking out the Grunt running for the Shade turret when we got to the Truth and Reconciliation level (the one Cortana labels with a NAV point).

- The first fight with the Hunters. It was a frantic back-pedaling fight for my life, and I loved every second of it.

- Silent Cartographer's opening fight. Grenades were going off right and left, Marines were barking out one-liners every chance they had, and the Covenant were frantically trying to defend that section of the beach.

- Tossing a frag into the group of Jackals on the other side of the Cartographer.

Really, the list goes on and on for quite some time. Halo just had so many memorable moments, and it was the first Xbox game I played with the intent of finishing, unlike the Turok and Mechassault games I had rented before finally getting a copy.

The Pillar of Autumn run. The atmoshphere during the run had me hooked. I remember walking through a door and a guy get mowed down by plasma, then I turn and like 6 enemies are there. I was happy to see the bulkhead closing.

I hope Halo 3 has a bit more "mood" to it than Halo 2 did. The "go here do this" of Halo 2 didn't hold my attention like the epic dramatic scary feel that Halo 1 had.

At my friends birthday party. I looked at the box since I wasn't playing right away. IT was cool. THey were playing the level Halo. I liked it, until I started playing it, it was too complicated the 1st time. I couldn't even figure out how to zoom in with the sniper. But I still liked it.

Favorite memeory was when me and my brother spent a few hours trying to find our way out of 343 guilty spark. We kept going around in circles until we actually decided to stop and actually solve this little puzzle rather than our curent team killing spree we had going.

My fondest memory was from when i first played the campaign. i was running around with no sense of how much ammo i had (what with all of the explosions). I finished the pillar of autumn, and then i went on to start the next level.

I look around, and there is craploads of blood and dead guys. I was too scared to keep playing. I eventually kept moving.
