I was thinking about how some people say that the ark protects whatever is in it, how humans were saved from halos activation as the descendants of forerunners. now can anyone point out the big problem with this? (all you need to know comes from the game, not any interviews or dvd's)

lmao i lost the last bit here when i posted. well as i was saying, The Covenant. We know modern day humans seem to come from a long line of hominids evolved over millions of years. now if forerunners supplanted that line with their own descendants, i can make sense of that. but where did the covenant come from? you dont evolve into sentience and ultimately superior technology in under 100,000 years (time 343 gs has been on halo alone) something just doesnt fit together here.

DING DING DING...we have a winner! The THEORY of evolution has far too many gaping holes in it to be considered as fact. Therefore, Bungie didn't have to make the story with that in mind. But, this topic brings up a good point. What has taken the Covenant so long if they have existed as long as the humans? Surely they could have taken the Arc and activated the Halos while the humans had nothing technology-wise to stop them. It would appear that the Covenant have only recently started existence, possible Forerunner ties?

in other words, we're getting back to some forerunners surviving the halo blast, and they went around and seeded the galaxy with low tech sentient life, and then vanished. b-e-a-utiful.
