Post your pet map ideas. try to make them as detailed as possible.
here is mine.
Here are the things I am depending on for this map to work:
360's ablitiy to sustain a game with 2 times as many people that halo 2 currently allows
Inclusion of some type of flying, passenger carrying vehicle(in this i just said pelican)
People like playing matches with big numbers of people ( I do! )
My map is another remake of Blood Gultch. However, any changes that aer made, I compared to h2's version, "COAGULATION"
name: AFTERSHOCK
Many years of frequent seismic activity has stretched coagulation into a bloody canyon. There are two ravines(in between the teleporters and their respective bases) that consist of flowing magma. That is the no-zone .
The map itself is 4x as long and 1.5 -2.5 times as wide(err on the high side of that estimate)
Perhaps, every minute or so, the center area of the map could shake, sort of like it does on waterworks.
To get over the ravines a banshee or pelican must be used. Otherwise, the bridges are the only option The bridges however must be activated by a central control switch in the middle of the level, open to sniper fire. The bridges must be lowered as their default position is up. Once the bridges open, they cannot be raised up again but can be destroyed with rockets, missiles from tanks or enough small arms fire concentrated on the bridges respective generators, placed behind each base.
If all of the light bridges are out, and you have no vehicle capable of traversing the gap, you need not worry. Along the sides of the map remain some small bridges that you may cross to get over the lava. There are located along the area wher the dark side cliffs are now on one side and are near the rocks on the other side.
The bases retain the same design as in halo 2 with one change. To the side of the bashee bay is a large concrete pad(level with the ground) on the side of that it is hollowed out to reveal a sunken hanger where the pelican spawns. The roofs of the bases are solid(no more oversized skylight). In place of that, it opens via a switch located by the ramps to the top of the base.
Weapon location will remain about the same. The only difference in that there are double the amount of weapons 4 snipers total 8-10 BRs etc.. as I imagine this level for 24-32 people(the 360 can handle it!)
The vehicles are however moved around. On the opposite end of the teleports there are hogs so you can pick up your team waiting at the base(adds another degree of strategy for objective games)Tanks are still parts of the teams aresenal but cannot drive over the bridges(however they can be coupled onto the bottom of the pelicans) I think this makes sense because nothing sucks more than having two tanks pounding on your front door. This way you have ample time to destroy the tank before it arrives at your front door! Also there are 2 ghosts(can be subbed with the atv if it is in the game) 2 banshees and a hog at your base(there is also a hog parked on the middle area of the map near the exit of the portal as I said before)
So to recap the vehicles each team has eight:
1 pelican
2 ghosts
1 base adjacent hog
1 teleporter adjacent hod
1 tank
2 banshees
This map would be good for multiflag, multi bomb, and territories. Also race would rock here if it was put in halo 3!
someone made a design of this map for me once. he was a really nice guy. here it is
