Subject: How long to improve?

I'm in love with Jesus and proud of it!

I'm not a good Reach player. I'm average at best. My earlier days on Reach of playing like a retard have ruined my stats, and a cousin who played my account and went -677 with the DMR butchered my KD (overall KD fell .07 in a few days).

I look on other's pages, and I see good KDs, as in 1.50 and higher. I want to have at LEAST a 1.20.

I've improved drastically with the DMR, sharpening my skills for headshots and speed in SWAT and using the magnum instead of the crappy AR in TS. I rely less on AA's other than Sprint than I used to and traded out my Needle Rifle for a DMR in Slayer Pro to discourage myself from using stickies too much. My DMR KD went from a .63 to a .90 in 2.5 weeks.

So, jokes aside, about how long (at current rate) should it take me to get to at LEAST 1.20? I'm not a tryhard (I guess), but I hate looking at my dismal stats and realizing that they're that way because of how badly and carelessly I've played in the past.

So basically... Waypoint is pro-vanilla?

Waypoint isn't pro-anything so much as they're just anti-intelligence.

Just play BTB, and if you have improved as much as you said you have, it shouldn't be too long before you reach your goal as you only have 12,857 kills.

Less kills = Easier to get k/d ratio up.

However, your W/L might substantially drop when searching BTB alone.

There's a 85% chance that you'll be put on a bad random's team.

RC Clone is the anti-thesis of a lurker.

You need to be able to aim and to coordinate with a team that is playing together.

How fast you can learn these things depends on who you are.

Stop worrying about your stats. The only people who can ever become truly good are the ones that can let go of their k/d. They only play for the win even if that means dying a little more than they should.

You should also get used to searching with a party. Playing by yourself will put you into this mindset where you assume everyone on your team is terrible and you'll start baiting the hell out of them because in your head they were still going to die anyways.

Also read up on this.

That's not really improving though... and I don't like LD.

Music Enthusiast. I adore all genres of music, even the ones you don't like, Subway is -blam!- amazing, and this is the greatest song ever created by one man IMO.
If I like you enough, I'll mail you a Subway Sandwich. If I hate you, expect a -blam!- nuke.

I appreciate all the input, but really, it's not about the numbers.

I just don't have fun when I lose. I can't stand to go negative or even in a match. I enjoy the game a lot more when not only my team is winning, but I'm actually contributing instead of being a meat shield. It's especially bad in Rumble Pit, which is why I don't play it often anymore. Having 4 kills and 11 deaths sucks.

I'll take this advice to mind.

^ If you want to win, you're going to need to find a good team / group of people to play with.

Your situation sounds a lot mine. Just don't let your k/d be what you judge improvement off of.

If you know you're improving why do you need number to confirm it?
