Well? There are dozens of quick, easy fixes to prevent quitters, and I assume they've ignored halo2 because they've been focusing on halo3. So, will matchmaking be engineered to make halo3 FUN to play online all the time, or will it still only be fun when you're lucky enough to have at least half a team.

Well, sorry to dissapoint you, but there are already about 5 - 6 threads that say what brass just said. So, uh sorry. I agree though.

Anyway, there is no real way to stop people from quitting a game. At the end of the day, everyone can still quit by getting up and turning off / unplugging thier 360.

I really hope they do! Like my idea of when a quiter leaves then people looking for a game in step two could join up and the game could get under way again. But you cant do it toward the end because you already lost.

You want a solution to quitters? Here it is, just use a server list and not a rediculous matchmaking system.

The matchmaking is okay and can be really fun but the problem is that it doesn't cater well to casual gamers who are more likely to bail out. If there is just a massive list of publicly open custom games then a large number of people who usually quit will just find themselves in those games as they are usually easier to sift through and find what you want rather than the randomization of finding what you want in matchmade.

though it won't fix it entirely there is no real way to fix it other than maybe have force even teams when one player leaves the other team gets somebody in waiting till the next respawn.

You can't ban people from a game just because they have to deal with something in the real world. Or there are always the a holes but they are usually persistant enough that almost nothing can really stop them without severly limiting the gaming power of many legit players as well (such as a meter or limit which allows you to only play (x) many games per day to cut down on quick quitting as that would hurt more legit players than a holes.

I thin that the quitting idea is the lamest thing I've heard. Ok so what if someone has to take a phone call and they can't play and talk on the phone at the same time (I can't). They have to unplug their X-box and then from brass's idea they get banned from MM for 15 minutes? How fair is that? If you ask me you paid for the service, you can quit out of a game if you like. And don't no one say I'm a quitter becase 1.I don't even have XBL and 2.I didn't ask for your opinion.

They won't and it would be really asinine to do so. What if they're playing Halo and their parents calls them down for dinner, or they have to go somewhere or do something. Having no quit option is basically saying your not allowed to leave your console and go do those. Your only option is to either turn off the Xbox or just let your guy sit there in the game. It would be way to problematic with complaints like that arising. Or, what if you're in the middle of a really long game and your good buddy sends you an invite to go play with him and a couple more of your buddies. I don't know about you guys but I would much rather quit and go play with them than finish the game up. Also, -this is the part where you all might hate me- if you're losing by a tremendous amount then theres better things you could be doing other than finishing up a game you'll probably lose. For those of you who have deleveling as your modivation for hating quiters then all I have to say is, "who cares, its just a game", but if its the lacking fun factor of an even match that motivates you then I can understand.

So essentially you're asking for them to take out the quit option?
Who said this:
"That's not going to happen."

You and I have said it perfectly my friend.

maybe if someone keeps quitting, then a message goes to bungie and they get suspended on playing.

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

The most you could do is make the "quitters" join up together more and more, each time they decide to quit another game. That way the real "troopers" will always be in quitter free games.

"In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move." -Douglas Adams

no, there are no solutions for quitters, xbox live makes that decision, not bungie.

I dont have the origional quote but it went something like this
We can't punish people who don't want to play the game
