by the way, i'm taking a break from the group, i have to go take a s'hit.

For the past few months now, I've been wondering about the possible institution of the 'prone' position into Halo 3. It is instituted into most FPS games that I play (GRAW, COD2...etc.), and I think that it would be a great advantage.

However, due to the possible unbalance of this position, I would only include it in the Campaign, as there would probably be many complaints about it on Xbox Live.

Just imagine, having a sniper rifle, and lying prone in high grass, overlooking a group of covenant foes, and picking them off one by one, with them having next to no chance in seeing you.

P.S.: for those who don't know, prone is when you are flat on your stomach, lying parallel to the ground.

There's too much action in halo to be lying on the ground. Crouching is enough.

yea i say no to prone its takes to long and its pointless. this is not a super realistic ghost recon shooter this is somewhat a simple shooter compared to others and prone is a stupid idea never again man never again!!!!!

crouching is enough. The pace of halo is very fast and very mobile (hence how most of the action of halo 1 was strafing to avoid slow moving plasma and needler rounds, a trait not picked up in halo 2)

Though it would be usefull in some places this game really is not about stealth and even still you gain no accuracy bonus from crouching or staying still as it is so I am going to have to disagree with any plead for a prone position.

It would a cool feature, but with the current run and gun style of Halo it would be pointless as well. I'm not going to lie though, I think it would be neat if they took a more strategical approach to multiplayer. It could be that I miss Wolfenstein: ToW to much though.

prone could be cool for live and everything---it would be plenty balanced just because if someone were to be prone, they would have very little mobility (and also couldnt hold a sword!)

but all in all, i dont care. it would be nice to see crouch become a sticky key... ie, i press it down and i stay crouched or something of that nature... my thumb gets tired holding the button down as-is.

Your mother is so fat, she tried to jump through Halo and got stuck.

Go check out ma file share. plz? lol

I did.t feel like making a whole new post so here it goes.

Rather than having a prone position, I would rather be able to dive or jump/roll to the side ( or front or back really ) to get out of the way of bad drivers. That would be awesome if you ask me. But of course you wouldn't be able to shoot while your doing it, but it would be cool to do it then quickly turn around and launch a sticky at the idiot who tried to splatter you.

Rolling would be pretty weird in a first-person view.

yea rolling would be terrible in first person, and halo is such a great game because of the fast paced nonstop action that just keeps going from start to finish prone position induces lots and lots of camping which makes the game extremely boring.
