ODST

I love how there's a lack of Reach in that poll.

Halo 2.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Halo 3 is the best overall game, imo.

I think ODST may have the best campaign, though.

CE is the most addicting. CEA has horrible controller-to-screen delay.

ODST is the worst. I don't appreciate an underplayed Campaign with boring gameplay, and my HUD fading to eye-straining red every two seconds due to aimbot Covenant shooting me even if I'm well in cover.

I have never played Halo 2, but it seems ideal compared to the other games because nobody gave a hoot what armor you had or what rank you were. You just played....

In my opinion, Halo 3 is the best overall game of the series, but I like Halo 2 better precisely because it wasn't as perfect as Halo 3. The mission designs were awesome. The fact that you could get out of a lot of the campaign levels and run around outside the playable space was really cool, because it made the game feel less like a track that you were running through, especially the Outskirts level.

As far as multiplayer mode goes, I would definitely rather play Halo 3, but the Halo 2 multiplayer was also very good. Halo 3 just pushed the envelope a lot farther than Halo 2 did, especially with the Forge editor.

Level boosting actually became a pretty big issue at one point, which I think turned a lot of people off on the game. People who were quite good would often lose intentionally in order to get in matches with lesser players who they could easily beat, and that would get them up to a higher level. In this way, it seemed like most of the top (level 50) players were actually playing down to about level 20 or 30; a lot of them hadn't gotten to level 50 legitimately, and they couldn't stay there legitimately, so they had to boost back up.

That was a major part of what turned me off on the game. People deliberately screwed with their networks, too, to make the connection bad for other players. One second there would be nobody around, and when the game would catch up with the other person's network, you would be surrounded by enemies.

That's not to say that online play wasn't fun, it was only one in five or six matches you would get somebody like that. The biggest problem was people quitting, especially in a CTF match. At least in Slayer you had a chance of racking up some points, especially on a big map, and if you could get your hands on the powerful weapons. One time I was playing CTF on Ivory Tower and my whole team quit halfway through the game. I scored one point alone and I almost scored the winning point, but I got killed three feet away from the pedestal.

Halo wars

  • 01.25.2012 7:41 PM PDT

What? No Halo Wars? lol jk, but it was still good. And why didn't you include Halo Reach?

But anyways, I really like Halo 3 ODST's campaign, but Halo 3 had the better multiplayer (obviously).

P.S.: I Love Eggs!

^_^

Halo 2, while flawed, was my personal favorite. The online play was endlessly entertaining, and glitches like the superjump and whatnot, while exploited by some, made for some hilarious custom games! Plus, 1 flag/bomb Zanzibar....christ i could play that alone for hours on end and never get bored. Something about CTF/ATB just didn't carry over well to Halo 3/Reach.

Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo Reach > Halo CE

Based on campaigns.

As I always say on these threads

Halo 2: Campaign was fun, good and fun level designs, good aesthetics, great storytelling and storyline, my favourite Halo

Halo 3: Campaign was fun, fun level designs, great aesthetics, storytelling could do with a little polishing up. My second favourite Halo

Halo Reach: Although it had terrible storytelling and storyline,I found it to be a fun, action packed adventure with cool looking aesthetics. My third favourite

Halo 3: ODST: The gameplay is fun and I like the first and last missions the best. Great aesthetics. I would like it so much better if it wasn't for the fact that I dont really like the storyline. 4th favourite

Halo CE: I like Halo CE the least because I find the gameplay boring and tedious, the level designs terrible, the enemies boring to fight, all the weapons were ridiculously overpowered and unfun, poor storytelling and storyline. Extremely let down by the game that supposedly 'revolutionised gaming.'

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

I like each game, but I found ODST the most enjoyable.

I am curious as to why Reach isn't on that list.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

Halo 2 was the greatest.

Still using a pump-action shotgun over 500 years in the future I see.

omg not realistic stop game production plz

I find that really hard to answer....

For story? It has to be Halo 2. But for the memories I have of me and my friends spending countless days forging all kinds of crazy stuff and playing tons of LAN custom games, and when we would go LAN to discover Easter eggs and story secrets...

Has to be Halo 3!

  • 01.26.2012 5:12 AM PDT

I find halo 3 the best, especially for it's online. Me and my friend would be up all night playing it which didn't happen for reach -_-.

(note: I didn't play the 2nd halo)

ODST.

  • 01.26.2012 5:51 AM PDT

Halo 2 and Halo 3 are an incredibly close tie, but the edge has to go Halo 2.

Then ODST and CE are such a close tie, but ultimately the edge goes to ODST.

And finally Reach...

Most probably Halo two and CE.
