Subject: People who don't play campagin

"I'm not going to lie to you, Lieutenant. You're stepping into some dangerous shoes the rest of the squad would rather leave unfilled. Me, I'm just happy to have Noble back up to full strength. I read your files, even the parts ONI didn't want me to see. I'm glad to have you're skill set. But we're a team. That lone wolf stuff, it stays behind. Got it?" "Yes, sir." "WELCOME TO REACH."

Why does playing campaign even matter...? It has 0 reflection on multiplayer skill.

Why does multiplayer skill even matter? Campaign is important because of the story, simple as that. Movies don't have multiplayer, does that mean they're pointless?

"Before you insult someone, try walking a mile in their shoes. This way, when you insult them, you are a mile away and have their shoes."

Multiplayer takes no skill, nothing takes skill. Multiplayer is non-important, the game is a game thanks to it's story, not due to ability to connect to 15 others.

Am I watching a movie to compete with 3 friends against 4 other people?

Please tell me what movie theater to go to so I can do that.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

Idiots ITT.

You're missing the point... Something tells me you're not into books. :/

I dont know why you try to argue this when its obvious multiplayer is more popular than campaign.

You know why? Campaign doesnt change. Nobody smart wants to play the same story over and over.

Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo Reach > Halo CE

Based on campaigns.

I have completed it on normal and occasionally re visit it on easy. Honestly i cant see how you can say Heroic and legendary are easy, i got to Oni Sword Base on heroic and found it impossible

For God's sake, why do I bother... Look, it doesn't matter which is more popular, in terms of the art of the game, Campaign is more important.

I'm not saying anything against multiplayer, I love multiplayer and it's what I play most often. I'm just saying that it is important that you play the campaign, cutscenes and all. Halo is a story game.

Seriously?

Playing Heroic on Halo Reach is like playing Easy on Halo 2. The game isn't that hard.

Not really. Halo is known for its multiplayer. Halo and CoD are known for their multiplayer. Whereas Gears is more of the game known for its story.

Majority of players just dont care for campaign. Especially with Reach since Reachs was rather subpar. Its cool the first time through, but after that its like watching the same movie every day.

And what does that have to do with intelligence? Some of the levels are fun. Completing objectives, finding new ways to do things, finding Easter Eggs, and getting achievements. You're saying not wanting to do that makes you stupid.

It doesn't matter if you play the campaign or not. Reach's campaign sucked anyway. Halo isn't a story game at all. It's both a multiplayer game and a story game, but leaning slightly more towards multiplayer.

Not playing the campaign for any game is offensive to developers because they pour their blood, cried tears, and worked longed hours to make games we like.

The consumer can do anything they want with their copy after they payed for it (Unless it goes against the terms and conditions of online play.) As long as they dev's get their $ they should be happy. And no one should be forced to play something they don't want to.

So if I make tons of books and movies based of CoD, does that make it a story game too?

The fact that a continuity has a story doesn't mean that that story is the most important part of every facet of its brand.

Look at at Star Wars. It has a massive continuity and story, but the Prequel movies were made up just to show off graphics and shiny lights. The story is made horrible because of this and it shows.

I'd suppose it would.

I'm in love with Jesus and proud of it!

I like campaign in Halo, just not Reach's.

I powered my way through H3's on Legendary in about 4 days. It was a lot of fun and at the end I felt like such a boss, especially after I found all the skulls.

With Reach it felt like a chore, and it took me over a month just to beat it on Normal because it wasn't fun or exciting. It didn't suck, there was just no "WOW" factor at all. The levels were all bland, boring and linear. Beating it on Legendary took even longer because I found myself taking frequent breaks. The AI on Legendary isn't even good... they have God-like aim and insane amounts of health, and Elites dodge everything, but they're still semi-retarded. Anyone who has tricked the Sword Zealot on Winter Contingency into attacking Jorge knows what I'm talking about.

The campaign is boss in this game, I could play it every god damn game - forever.

This. Story was meh, but glitching is awesome, and the gameplay is pretty good too.

But how? How do you kill those ridiculously overpowered ultra elites?
