there is a huge final battle on earth to stop the flood and it fails then in the last cutscene mc has finally had to activate the halos becouse the flood cannot be stopped and all life is teminated. then it says like 10,000 years later and it zooms in on earth and you see a tiny little ameba form and it says the end in big words

I bet they will make you think near the end of the game that you will have to activate the halo's but then when cortana is taken out of the clutches of gravemind she finds a new way to stop the flood without destroying the universe. This would make perfect sense because after all the time with gravemind she has probably found out flood weaknesses and all that stuff.

I know you like attention, but seriously, it hurts to look at, and if everyone said that then all posts would be in all caps, and my brain would explode.

I don't understand it, the Forerunners must have cared about future life 100,000 years earlier. I mean, they created a Galatic Sucide machine to stop the Flood. They killed everyone....Not to much different from what the Flood would do. Both irradicate life as known, one ensures future life to breed...What's the point of that, other than future procreation? If your killing yourself, and everything else, why leave room for further evolution? Why not simply die away? I hope the Forerunner motives are brought to light a bit more, along with some of what the Covenant believed and found in its early years.

I think it could be good to have multiple paths.... for example...
Remember in Metal Gear Solid... the torture bit and the fight on top of Metal Gear Rex??? well those were sections of the game where the outcome at the end would depend on what you did in those situations....
It would be a nice touch to bring that kind of feature into Halo 3.... therefore... it really does feel like you're in control of the outcome based on your decisions... of course they woud have to implement more than just 2 parts... but they don't want too many places where it's down to choice otherwise it would be too confusing to work out.... they shouldn't make it obvious either.... sort of like you will be presented with something and you can either do it or just not worry about it.... Multiple endings would be good i think.... of course each one would be absolute magic, Good or Bad!

What the hell are you looking at?

just so's you know -

amoeba = single cell organism.
amemba = Hippy store in San Francisco, apparently

or is the point that only a single shop in the world would survive and it would be full of tat that you'd never want to buy? noooooooooooooooooooo!

I really don't think Earth will have to be obliterated, unless of course Cortana has indeed gone rampant and joined with Gravemind and his Flood minions. Though if Cortana is saved from Gravemind (imagine the fight it would be to kill Gravemind!) then I believe like someone else here believes that she will tell the Chief a way to eliminate the Flood besides halo activation.

Still though this may not be possible and the Halo's may have to be activated but if they do I don't think MC will die. He and several others will hide somewhere (The Ark perhaps) and survive the blast that is literally from the past.

This ending is non-sensical.

For all of you who think that Master Chief is going to die at the end, it wouldn't make sense, it wouldn't fit in the theme of the Halo games. Throughout the games there has been countless Religious symbolism and allusions, obvious ones are the Covenant, the Flood, and even the games title, Halo. So, with all that in mind, here's the ending.

Remember the Arbiter. Arbiter means judgement, or judge. At the beginning of Halo 2 we saw the Arbiter hung up in a cross like fashion, much like the crucifiction, making an allusion to Jesus. His name is the Arbiter, so, has anyone heard of Pantacrater Jesus?

Moving on, the only logical endind is to have the Arbiter become a Martyr and die for his people, making another allusion to Jesus and the Arbiter will make the ultimate Judgement of his people. Believe me, Bungie has planned this out from the beginning, there is no flying by the ear endings here, it's methodical.

I think, at the most, Master Chief will go MIA and the human race will never see him again, because he is no longer needed.

Chief's name, John. It's John who baptises Jesus, breaking him free into his own faith, much like the Gravemind mediated meeting of the two in the bowels of Delta Halo, after the Arbiter meets MC, his beliefs definitely change.

That would be -blam!-, it owuld mean that there wouldnt be ONE ending, i want ONE ending to finish the trilogy, i think that ONE ending would be much more wanted by all than an ending that was brought on by your actions in game.... that would suck in my opinion.

Now thats a really well thought out ending! I wouldnt be surprised if that was the ending.

That would be good, if Cortana finds a weakness in the flood that cn be used to finally destroy them that would be an appropriate ending, the forrunners monitered and tried to watch the flood to understand them, but the only way the found to destroy them was to whie away their food, which only starved them and sent them into a dormant state rather than killing them. I think that gravemind might pehaps act as a central intelligence, pehaps centralling all the floods things that they find, what they remove from peoples minds, and therefore mite hold the key to their destructionjavascript:WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions(new WebForm_PostBackOptions("postForm$skin$submitButton" ;, "", true, "", "", false, true))
