Subject: Why did the 1-50 system get removed?

THATS MY COOL MAN I CAN'T TAKE IT OFF!

I like the days when you just played the damn game for the fun of playing the game.

No Ranking System Party 2012

Ranking up (in a legitimate way) was 'the fun of the game' to plenty of people. And rightfully so.

You're retarded.

This sig will Self-Destruct in 3.... 2.... 1.... Thank you for your time. Cookie?

Can we all agree that Reach was just an attempt at a plethora of changes to the Halo formula that all simultaneously failed?

It should be a set and unchanging number of wins and shouldn't be based on who's team had a booster account on it.
wtf would be the point of that? Then anybody could get a 50 if they played for long enough.

Losses still count. One loss counts as -1, one win counts as +1, with ranking up being when you reach the number 5 or something. Or ranking down when you lose the number required for that rank.

Because it made it unfair to everyone who wasn't spamming nades and AR, so they gave everyone a fair chance to be an Inheritor.

Rage kids got mad they couldn't have an empire based on rank.

Everyone is entitled to their own wrong opinion.

I'm part of the Bungie.net Minecraft group/server called SeptaCrafters
We're a Bungie.net group that goes to our very own Bungie server. Most players are from the Halo community either off Bungie itself or through word to Halo friends.

Because Halo was meant to attract more casual gamers.

Get over it already.

PSR = (((K+A)/D)*Win%)*120
The average player's PSR = 100

"Fun" is a subjective term.

Mad cuz ur stuck at a 48 yet you could get the lolReach highest rank.

You made it to where you belonged.

Nah, nobody is mad. I admit it was terrible. I do not care for a 50. Perhaps 48 is where I am at. I am not hardcore like some of you. I enjoy reach miles more than Halo 3. Is there a problem? No

Anybody could still get a 50 with that system. It was supposed to be a rank not everyone could hit. That's the point of a rank. Not everyone can be at the top

You're right. I didn't really think about it.

They should definitely bring it back. But they should do something against boosting.

I also think they should make the number higher than 50.

Nope. SouthPole isn't a person. He's the avatar of the force of tryhards everywhere. He stalks the web looking for retards to set straight. He can not be stopped by mere bans or thread locks for he shall rise anew.

Because people got mad when the system actually showed them how good they were. The ranks didn't lie.

[/quote]People will always figure out how to exploit a system.

At least in Halo 3, boosting affected nobody except the booster, and the idiot who was paying for the boosted account.

In Reach and arena, if you boost, you're displacing other player's placements.

And you had to be good to boost.

That's true, but they should fix the old exploits.

Just another reason why Arena is garbage.

Because people were making money off it.

Not my fault and I highly doubt this was the problem. Look what people do in WoW.

I believe the problem was as stated above, people didn't like the fact they had a number value that showed they were bad. This is nothing more than "NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND" bull-blam!-. If you are dumb and or slow, who cares if you have to take a special class. No reason slow or effect everyone.

This way no one is belittled but if a good ranking system doesn't return in Halo 4, the game again will be crap. This COD ranking system they tried is the dumbest thing ever.

You're clearly mad though. If you weren't, you wouldn't call it horrible. We've already gone over this. You don't need to be "hardcore" to be good. That's called an excuse.

Is there a problem? No, there wasn't. The 1-50 was close to perfect.

Although I agree the Halo 3 ranking system should have been implemented, it should have been based on how you perform and not simply winning matches.

we can only hope the new Halo implements something like this.

And yeah as much as i love the 1-50 system in halo 3 just look at it now. To this day there are still a ton of cheaters in ranked Halo 3.
