Cassandra is most likely the Spartan that was too hurt to continue fighting. I think this means that she is getting into a Mark VI and may rejoin the fight in Halo 3.

Thirdly, they did wear their armor outside of combat areas. When the Master Chief is being debriefed by teh UNSC High Command after the event at Cote d'Azur, he is wearing his armor - UNSC High Command is most definitely NOT a combat area.

Actually, he was not wearing his armor at the debriefing.

>_< ok, well there goes that one, then. Really would help if I had my books here ~_~;

opogjijijp = my flippin savior dude

i didnt wnat to exactly quote all the spartan numbers and figure out 48, u love hippie
they didnt hang with normal people cause they were bred to fight
all they know is fighting
they didnt go around play baseball in the park on reach...
they were not civilians
they had no civilian life
they didnt know anything bout civillians really
John was uncomfortable shaking a man's hand!!!!!!!!!!!!
jeeze
cassandra was not a normal friend
she had to be a spartan who knew them and that his number was 117, no one outside the military knew that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like gunsharks idea...that'd be cool if she got a mark VI as well, or maybe if the chief did upgrade armour she gets a VII or VIII as well.

Even though you are wrong about that point, I do agree that they probably do wear there armor outside of Combat areas whenever they can. John and the other Spartan prefer to be inside their Armor.

Dude, stop calling me a love hippie. I hate the word love as it is overused way too much in this damn country, and I'm not a hippie.

If you were shunned your entire life because of things beyond your control (John couldn't really control his being made into a Spartan), you would probably be extremely happy is you found someone who could look past your differences.

And like I said before, we aren't given an explicit timeline of John's day-to-day activities, so we don't know who he interacted with.

Johnson ISN'T on high charity, I don't believe he ever was. He's on delta halo, last we saw he was in the control room.

Yes, if you read the book, they did have contact with civilian life. Master Chief and a couple other spartans get rescued by some civilians in a pelican. Master Chief wakes up with no armor up.

I believe one of those was Cassandra.

I don't recall though.

The message could've been sent before Master Chief and Johnson left Earth. DUR, Did you ever think of that?

Also, The Bold One, before you go yelling and screaming out of your ass, don't tell people to use logic when you forget to use your brain.

Where in the books did they get picked up by a pelican with civilians? I don't remember that part and don't have my books to research it.

If I remember correctly, that was from Mr. Clark's fan fic which is NOT one of the books.

How do civillians get control of a pelican?? and how do civilians know how to get off Spartan Armour that took a team of technicians to get off the spartans and sometimes another spartan, although one could get theirs off by themselves, like john did on Halo 04 when he was talking to Silva with his helmet off...

and i know johnson wasnt on high charity i got confused on my head, ur right he was on delta halo (05) but he wasnt on earth with cassandra...that's what i was getting at

and i'm not yelling or screaming, and i'm sorry for calling you a love hippie, ur just intouch with the human side of yourself and that explains why u would see how Spartans want to do non spartan things... that's like Christians who've never met hethens wanting to sacrifce little girls to the FIRE God in the mountain... doesnt make sense

EDIT: opogjijijp - IS so smart and i agree with this dude from here on out whether he be right or wrong.

It's alright, its a good fan fic, worthy of being a book, but we all make mistakes.

Edit: Yeah, its part of chapter 3 of his fan fic.

When she says ghosts, shes refering to the spartans. Humanity never hears of them, and probably knows nothing of them. They are ghosts, myths.

The pale heart of her isn't refering to a damn person, god stupidty. It's refering to Humanity, just as it says. Humanity is on the brink of destruction, it's weak and dieing. And the only thing defending it is Ghosts. (Spartans)

Isn't Cassandra one of the civllians that Master Chief and the spartans from ONI come across? And they had taken off all Master Chief's armor.

Wait, I remember sort of a girl he rescues or something and she leaves with Sargeant Johnson. Little dusty in my head, I'd have to read First Strike again.

the books make a brief mention that the civilian population is clued in that there are a line of SPARTAN super soldiers, though ONI never tells anyone that they abducted children at a young age to create them.

as for cassandra, my theory is she was one of Johns Classmates who didnt quite make it through the augmentations intact.
and in the book it says they have a "lessened sex drive" not "no sex drive" and sex drive or not, that has no bearing on whether the MC can "love". it just means he wont want to do the hibity dibity.

Considering all of the 'multiple SPARTANS in Halo 3' topics, I remembered this, It's a little different, so please, lend me your ear.

In the 'Conversations From the Universe' booklet that comes with the Halo 2 special edition, there is a letter the John 117 at the end from someone called Cassandra. It reads:

"117,

As you might imagine-though I know you won't- I've heard quite a bit of your recent adventures on the Halo. I'm glad you made it; I have to assume you always will. Recovery is going well and I am proceeding on to fourth-stage rehabilitation. It is significantly more painful than the previous stages, but I'm happy to be skinned once again.

I hear that you will be testing the new Mark VI. I will definately look for the reports on how it works out. The specs are obviously improved, but the choice to incorporate further Covenant technology somehow makes my skin crawl.

We miss you, John. I've asked Sergeant Johnson to let me know if you're ever near the M2SL Recovery Station and perhaps I'll be able to come see you. I'm hoping I'll have the chance soon. Today, humanity feels pale and thin with only ghosts to defend her heart. I feel much the same.

Ill write again.

-Cassandra"

Okay, first of all, this is obviously written to John 117, but from who? It must have been someone rather close to John, but who? She mentions something about recovery, from what? We know that the SPARTANS went through many genetic changes, and enhancers. Perhaps this Cassandra is a recovering SPARTAN? She also said "We miss you, John" We? More SPARTANS, perhaps? And were the MJOLNIR armor specs released to general public? Because this Cassandra seems to know about it and its specs. And what does "I'm happy to be skinned again." Mean? Is it slang for becoming a civilian again because she is not using the armor anymore? Maybe she went through a nasty injury, thus the rehabilitaion, and recovery. Okay, now this is the part that puzzles me:

Today, humanity feels pale and thin with only ghosts to defend her heart. I feel much the same.

Ghosts of what?

Anyway, I don't think that this has been presented before, but if it is, can someone please direct me to an existing thread about it?

I know that the post was riddled with more questions, but I want to hear feedback from the people here on the forums.

Here is your answer about who she is...
