"I'm happy to be skinned again." Mean? Is it slang for becoming a civilian again because she is not using the armor anymore?
Holy -blam- now that you bring that up, I remember reading in one of the books, Im pretty sure it was "The Flood" when the MC shows up at a LZ that some Marines and ODST's set up on Halo, they give him a place to rest, and it talks about how the MC takes of his helmet but not the rest of the suit and it talks about how pale he is, and the reason he is so pale is because the spartans consider their suit as their own skin, and feel very very uncomfortable taking it off... So maybe she meant that she was happy to get her armor back, but she was still slightly recovering... I think your really on to something man, good job! :P
He takes off the entire suit to clean it and perform maintenance on it.
Though not in this thread, I have posted observations that lie on both sides of this argument. While it does seem likely (I will concede that) that Cassandra is a Spartan, that does not mean that it is proof. Some of the marine have proven to be extremely resilient to different things. Corporal (sp?) Locklear made it off Halo in one piece, and did not have a special suit like the MC, nor did he have regenerative abilities like Sergeant Johnson.
Another point: I believe it is in The Fall of Reach, during the debriefing after teh Cote d'Azur mission, it tells a story about the officer who had a large portion of his body burned by plasma fire. This means normal marines can indeed survive having their skin messed up, which could be a reference to how Cassandra had to be "reskinned".
Also, besides being a civilian, Cassandra could be a normal/ODST female marine, which is why she might know of John's Spartan number.
