When you can use your definition of "logic" to provide concrete evidence of why Cassandra is a Spartan, then I'll go buy some duplos and build something. Until then, if you can't provide evidence, don't bother posting the same things over and over again.

Edit: Fajad was the only one specifically stated in the books who went to work in other areas of the UNSC. There was a total of 12 Spartans who survived the augmentation but had serious side effects from the process.

Where might I find this fan fiction? It sounds interesting.

As for the Spartans' emotions and whatnot? On page 177 of First Strike, it mentions the Spartans' closest thing to an "emotional outburst" being their gesture for a smile, a "quick, short gesture with his(Anton's) index and forefinger over the faceplate of his helmet where his mouth would be."

And yeah, I think Cassandra was one of the original Spartans, probably got her skin messed up during the enhancment of their bodies.

"Emotional outburst" doesn't mean they don't have normal feelings.

And just to make myself clear:

I'm not saying that Cassandra CAN'T be a Spartan. I'm merely saying that that isn't the ONLY possibility.

logic doesnt make concrete evidence

logic is when certain facts make sense
what are the facts?

she knows his number
knows him personally
she had to be reskinned
spartans hang out wth military people only
books say so
spartans feel more comfortable with other spartans

and u have the qualites of a love hippie, although ur not one and in no way am i calling you one.

"I'm happy to be skinned again." Mean? Is it slang for becoming a civilian again because she is not using the armor anymore?

Holy -blam- now that you bring that up, I remember reading in one of the books, Im pretty sure it was "The Flood" when the MC shows up at a LZ that some Marines and ODST's set up on Halo, they give him a place to rest, and it talks about how the MC takes off his helmet and rest of the suit to maintenece it and it talks about how pale he is, and the reason he is so pale is because the spartans consider their suit as their own skin, and feel very very uncomfortable taking it off... So maybe she meant that she was happy to get her armor back, but she was still slightly recovering... I think your really on to something man, good job! :P

Have you guys considered that this was maybe a real kid who got into an accident and one of those foundations that gave you one wish (they thought he/she would die in surgery) asked to write a letter to "The Master Chief" and he/she was just pretending I know how stupid that sounds but in a world where our VP shot a man in the face anythings possible

He takes off the entire suit to clean it and perform maintenance on it.

Though not in this thread, I have posted observations that lie on both sides of this argument. While it does seem likely (I will concede that) that Cassandra is a Spartan, that does not mean that it is proof. Some of the marine have proven to be extremely resilient to different things. Corporal (sp?) Locklear made it off Halo in one piece, and did not have a special suit like the MC, nor did he have regenerative abilities like Sergeant Johnson.

Another point: I believe it is in The Fall of Reach, during the debriefing after teh Cote d'Azur mission, it tells a story about the officer who had a large portion of his body burned by plasma fire. This means normal marines can indeed survive having their skin messed up, which could be a reference to how Cassandra had to be "reskinned".

Also, besides being a civilian, Cassandra could be a normal/ODST female marine, which is why she might know of John's Spartan number.

Okay, I kinda thought he did, I think he took a shower also, but I thought that was in a part in The Fall of Reach, my bad, but yeah, I do remember how it talked about how the spartans considered their armor as their "skin"

THE SWORD OF DAMECLES SHALL FALLETH UPON THINESELF!

ok there is a big point that everyone here has missed

at the top of the page in the conversations book with cassandra's letter is the name m2sl recovery station

i think this means that cassandra is indeed badly injured and also seeing as she says that she is moving on to 4th stage rehabilitation she is obviously being treated for horrible wounds

and before you all say that anyone could be there i dont think that the UNSC will send every poor bastard of a marine to a specialized recovery facility and that only high commanders and important personnal merit that much expense

and then there is the fact that she talks about the armour and how the larger amount of covenant tech makes her skin crawl

i doubt anyone would use that kind of personification with battle armour and im sure you all know those shivers you get and the goose bumps etc when you think up a certain thought

also seeing as she is a spartan she likely has access to more info than a lot of people with higher ranks and the fact she knows about the halos supports that she is spartan, especially since in the start of halo 2 johnson says that the info about halo is classified when hes talking to the armoury guy

and the last thing is, how can that many people possibly miss him when not many people know him and seeing as this is a personnal letter (its handwritten) she is obviously a close friend, and even if he has civilian friends how could they possibly know about halo as its so classified

oh and the fact that she assumes he will always make it is likely a reference to his unbelievable luck as mentioned in the books (in the fall of reach they make a few references to how john is not the fastest, strongest, or smartest spartan but he is definatly the luckiest)

so go ahead read, weep and shoot your remarks at me i hope ive made an important point

Yup yup! Kelly's fast, Linda's a good sniper, and John is EXTREMELY lucky. If he played it, he'd probably have won the lottery a few times in his life.

Johson didnt have regenerative abilities... his nervous system was fried from using a bunch of plasma grenades and the flood infection form couldnt controll his body....cause it couldnt connect with the host like it could with people whose neurons dont suffer from Borons syndrome ( i think thats what its called)

and i'm glad you finally see how she could be a spartan

EDIT.... Adam8816 is a genius, he has all the facts to support my argument.

No, you're thinking of the briefing for the "Capture a Prophet" mission. The man I'm talking about the one who took the ONI Prowler back to High Command, and gets berated by Ackerson for not obeying the Cole Protocol.

If Cassandra was an ONI personel, she would be able to gather information about the Halos and the new MJOLNIR armor.

And yes, Johnson does have some regenerative abilities due to Flood DNA still residing in his body. Read the books.

Let's see if I can make a good list (going from memory, no books ~_~, correct if wrong):

1. Cortana - If you don't know who Cortana is, get out of these forums. Now.
2. Deja - The Spartans' mentor while undergoing training. She taught them about the Spartans and different warfare methods
3. Calmiya - Cortana's "little sister". The prototype AI made to test out the programs and routines that would later be implemented in Cortana
4. Abrigial (BAD spelling, please correct) - Ackerson's AI. Threatened Dr. Halsey when she was looking through Ackerson's files. Deleted by Dr. Halsey
5. Beowulf - ONI AI. Used during the briefing for the "Capture a Prophet" mission
6. Welsey - Major Silva's AI. Specialist for ground warfare used on Halo
7. Covenant AI (multiple) - First encountered on the Ascendant Justice. Code shredded and stored by Cortana. AI copying program salvaged from this AI. Other Covenant AIs include those on the Unyeilding Heirophant and High Charity.
8. 343 Guilty Spark - Monitor AI on Halo installation 04
9. 2401 Penitent Tangent - Monitor on Delta Halo
10. Point-defense AI for Pillar of Autumn - Was never installed in the ships' systems. We do not know what happened to it.
11. Spartan Project AIs - Multiple AIs found in the facility where the Spartans received the MJOLNIR armor. No other information

The Bold One, why do you feel the need to continue posting here when it's obvious that you're a complete and total moron.

Stop spamming the thread unless you have something SMART to contribute.

Cassandra probably wasn't a civillian because she knew about the new Spartan armor type.

Hm. Maybe Cassandra is his Mother. That explains the "we miss you" as his mum and dad. But I can't fathom what the skinned again means in relation to Cassandra being his mum.

John's parents, like all the parents of the Spartan soldiers, believe that their child is dead. When ONI took the children away for the training, they made flash clones of the kids, which they returned to the parents (without them knowing the kids had been switched). The flash clones didn't survive for very long, since the technology was imperfect, so they all died off relatively quickly, and the parents never knew that their children might still be alive.

I read that letter too when I got Halo 2 and it puzzled me to no end. It sounds to me like this "Cassandra" might be in love with John.

Love interest for Master Chief in Halo 3 perhaps? Might be a fun story twist.

Spartans don't love... through all their surgeries and hormone injections they lose the sex drive... read the books man.

Yes but can't they love one another as friends or even family? Because I know that the Spartans were very close, and basically trusted eachother with their lives.

When Cassandra talks about beeing "skinned" i actually think that she is talking about getting into armor again, how about that?
If the Spartans feel more comfortable in their Combat skins (combat skin, skinned, you see where i'm getting this from huh?) then maybe what she's saying is that she just got her armor back and is ready for active duty...
Could this be a way to justify her appearence in Halo 3 perhaps?

Yeah, i meant they cant love -blam!-ly or love like boyfriend girlfriend kindof thing, They do love each other like family and they are all their friends, cause when you hang out with people 24/7 and have to trust ur life in them...u gotta like them.... There were little clicks in there too where they liked certain spartans more than others, but thats only cause some hadnt seen each other in years due to different combat missions
i believe thats in the Fall of Reach before they get debriefed for the capture a prophet mission.

I sure hope that was smart and that it wasnt some made up stuff and i havent insulted anyone
