Here's your offending post (NO ONE CLICK on the link in his post PLEASE).
Don't you have the tools to edit peoples posts?

If he edits it, the OP can claim that it wasn't him and the mods are trying to frame him or something outrageous like that (knowing this OP's motives, I don't doubt he would've). Even if Recon THEN re-edits the link back in as proof, his edit mark will always be there.

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

We’re flawed because we want so much more. We’re ruined because we get these things and wish for what we had.

Lol this thread again.

But you see, in doing so, you reposted the link. Posting the link to a shock site in any way shape or form, whether by accident or on purpose, in reference or directly is prohibited on this website. If, when you hit the submit button, the URL to a shock site is in your post, you are now responsible for that URL and will be treated the same (well, to a certain extent) as the person who posted it originally with malicious intent.

If you don't like the rules the way they are, either learn to deal with it like so many of the rest of us have, or leave. This paradigm of the ambiguity and consistently liberal application of said ambiguity in the forum rules has been around since the Rules' inception, and is not likely to change any time soon.

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

ITT: People trying to chastise OP

Please stop. Coming in here simply because there's an argument and telling the OP he's wrong is rather annoying to watch.

Since OP's trying to be a hero and take this up with Recon in public, just let him do that.

All happenstance. PMs will suffice from here on out.
Given that you've been here for barely over a year, telling people what they can and cannot do and what will and will not suffice is a tad presumptuous. The moderators and web team are here to define the limits of acceptable conversation; not you.

You also clicked the quote button (just like I am now), thereby copying what the OP posted. If you has simply taken out the link, it would have been fine and dandy, but because you quoted the post and didn't take out the offensive link, you were banned and told not to do so again.

I suspect llamas are secretly wizards. I <3 poptarts n' milk. I like me. Grimick is defined as: a logical parodox, the act of funnaling a potato down your throat, and a deliciously flavored muffin (with pecons and blueberries). Norway is the Swedish word for 'moron'. My sister has cancer, so i get to use handicap parking and cut small children in line at Disneyland.

"Don't eat doughnuts on thin ice."

"The pancake, my friend, has officially been flipped."

They aren't corrupt. If you don't like the rules then you shouldn't have promised to follow them, but don't worry, you DO have the freedom to leave. We're not trapping you here.

This thread is successfully derailed, yo. However, I'll try to make an on-topic response:
I actually am rather impressed with this site's moderation system. They're able to look professional and serious to newcomers and outsides when in fact they're really pretty laid-back. They're able to moderate seriously and still hang out when they want to; I think that's cool.

This is what Recon said in responce to that thread:

"Yes, as long as your arms reach, it's pretty expected.

Is it okay to create a thread here about it?

Not so much."

Hey guys check this out it's really cool.

Don't do that.

When you quote somebody's post, what they say becomes part of what you're saying.

If they post a link to something bad and you quote it, you are also posting a link to something bad, because there is a link to something bad in their post, which you have put into your post also by quoting them. The fact that you didn't post it first is irrelevant; you could easily have edited the link out when you quoted them, or even better, you could not have responded to the thread at all.

You can get blacklisted for quoting stuff that doesn't have links in it, too. The point of banning somebody is that it hides their posts, and by quoting what they said, you're allowing the things they said to stay on the forum.

It's like a taco inside a taco that's within a Taco Bell, inside a KFC.

Cry Havoc And Let Slip The Dogs Of War.

There is nothing wrong with the way the mods do things. OP maybe you should try sticking by the rules and you wouldn't have any issues.

To touch on one point you brough in the end of your OP. It's a very good thing they don't allow religious discussions, those are alreay very sensitive issue. Most of the memebrs here just are not mature enough *not true for everyone of course* to talk about such things.

Everytime you quote, you're committing piracy. You're stealing someone else's work, and redistributing it for free. When someone is distributing illegal or bannable offenses, and you redistribute it, you are distributing illegal activities. It's all covered in SOPA and PIPA.

Basically, you're a double-pirate. And the Moderators here are Ninjas...you do the math.

I think the mods are doing a great job. My only issue was when I got a week ban and a total rank reset on the forums for using a single swear word in a post.

I would actually appreciate it if a mod could enlighten me to any other rules I broke at the time because those punishments seemed quite harsh and unjustified; especially to a very active member of the time. Does a single swear word earn a week ban and a title reset, or did I stockpile myself a bad reputation at the time? Overkill, if you ask me. Hence why I would like to know.
But the fact they they're so involved in the forums I cannot fault. They're always skulking around with us lesser-members, sharing in on the news, speculation and gossip :D
