I don't understand why everyone keeps thinking it's Gravemind that's talking in the video. From what I remember neither Gravemind or Cortana use Gods and Demons to refer to humans, Covenant, or Forerunner. Only Covenant use the words Gods and Demons. So my question is has Cortana been taken over or infected by some sort of Covenant AI and not Gravemind?

On a side note I have also found out that the Prophet of Truth is actually a hard core stoner and was in fact very high when he created 'The Covenant'. It was originally created in order to find Onion Rings(cause he had the munchies!) and not Halo Rings.

Nice theory. People think it's Gravemind because if you have a good audio on your computer, you can hear his voice under hers.

Thanks. I think it's an excellent theory myself. I completely understand how The Covenant would confuse Onion Ring for Halo Ring.

Edit: I meant the Covenant would confuse Halo Ring for Onion Ring.

Ya, I have it on my 360, and I can hear gravemind pretty clearly. My friend gil's theory is that she is corrupted.

Except that some of the lines of speech are taken directly from the Cortana letters, and that Bungie has said it was Cortana....

Not the Gods and Demons part.

Yeah, she seemed pretty stubborn about not blowing the city up and staying on that sation.

That cut-scene at the end didn't support her case either.

Listen to the words she says in the video and everything else she has done in the storyline. She isn't out to kill the Chief (the H3 audio clip makes that obvious) or humanity. She does sound like she's on edge which could either be because of something that has happend while she was away from the Chief or she has gone partially Rampant. Even she did go Rampant she may just be an almost crazy ally but an ally nonetheless. I don't know why but people seem to have been suspicious of her since she was introduced in H1 (anyone remember the idea that she was going to go insane in H2?)

My prediction is that she will be becoming insane during H3, with the Chief trying to prevent it. This could culminate in a fight between them that ultimatly saves her.
