Subject: Betrayal/Quitting System

I'd like someone from bungie to explain this to me. I'm playing capture the flag 2 way. I get the flag and get in the rocket jeep with a driver and a gunner. The driver just sits there and 4th member of my team comes up to my side. He melees me twice and I die by betrayal. I get no chance to kick him.

After I respawn I go back to the flag (still sitting there). When I get near another member of my team picks up the flag and proceeds to start taking it back to the other team's base. Since he's trying to sabotage us, I kill him to get the flag. He gets to kick me.

Next game. Prior to the game starting three of my teammates quit. So I get to choose between playing 5 vs. 8 and getting my ass kicked for 15 minutes or quitting and getting punished with a point towards a temp ban. Once I find out multiple teammates aren't active I quit. One more point towards a temp ban.

Next game. It starts out fine. After a few minutes I see a teammate attacking the person with out sniper rifle. He's trying to kill our sniper and take it for himself. So I betray the guy trying to betray out sniper. I only wait until he's shot multiple rounds at our sniper. I get kicked. One more point.

Fourth game in a row. Less than a minute in, two members of my team quit. At least one more is inactive. It's 5 vs. 8 and we are getting crushed. Either I can quit and get another point towards a temp ban or I can spend 15 minutes getting killed. This seems familiar.

So what the -blam!- is up with this system? It seems retarded beyond measure. Bungie, how do you explain this -blam!-?

Game 5. Two quitters within the first few minutes on slayer. Another teammate ends with -4 kills. ggBungie.

Bungie is no longer managing the Halo Universe. While our Halo-related forums and stats remain available, be advised that "official" answers and support about the Halo Universe (past, present, or future) are not.

The system is fine, betray a lot, the option comes after less betrayals.
Protip: Take out their shields and let the enemy kill them.

Don't want to deal with quitters and AFKers, get friends to play with. Or maybe don't get betray booted so much and a quit like this won't matter.

So my choice is to let them take the flag back to the other teams' base or hope that I can injure, let the other team kill then, then take the flag without the other team (which just killed my teammate) killing me. That seems full on retarded.

So?

So a system that forces casual gamers to either get their ass kicked or get punished isn't conducive to attracting those gamers.

You just betrayed a guy and got booted two games before, did you really think you could get away with one?

Considering I was only betraying him because he was sabotaging our team, yeah, I think I shouldn't be kicked. The point of making the post was to point out that it's stupid that someone can sabotage their team without punishment while someone trying to protect their team gets punished.

Again, so? Don't want to deal with quitters and AFKers, get friends to play with. Or maybe don't get betray booted so much and a quit like this won't matter.

Once again, you don't get the issue. Not every user is some virgin nerd with a bunch of halo friends to play with. Some of us play casually and don't like it when we can never get a fair game because of the horrible betrayal/quitting system.

It's not retarded, you are. Now stop.
Actually, you seem like the retard. You don't get the obvious point of the thread and you assume that everyone takes your ultra-nerd approach to Halo. Casual gamers hate the current system because it's stupid as s hit.

Obviously you didn't read the third sentence.
So a system that forces casual gamers to either get their ass kicked or get punished isn't conducive to attracting those gamers. What do you expect from a matchmaking system that is strictly social, and NOT looking for players based on skill?

The point of making the post was to point out that it's stupid that someone can sabotage their team without punishment while someone trying to protect their team gets punished.Holy derp. The booting system is based off your betrayal history. How the -blam!- do you think the game can tell if someone is "sabotaging the team".
Once again, you don't get the issue. Not every user is some virgin nerd with a bunch of halo friends to play with. Some of us play casually and don't like it when we can never get a fair game because of the horrible betrayal/quitting system.Oh

And casual gamers don't hate the booting system, it's retards like you who betray all the time and whine because you couldn't revenge betray a teammate. inb4theInheritorcard
