I'd die to become immortal,
That's why I play Halo Reach

(if you want to get stright to the theory, just skip the first two paragraphs)

Halo and Halo 2 were good games. my favourite bit was in Halo near the end of "Two Betrayals" where you have to get past a virtual armada of Covenant troops plus a flood of the flood. I found that Halo 2 lacked a lot of those insanely big battles. it seemed like you just needed to kill guys and progress to the next room to kill more guys (no offence Bungie, i still LOVE Halo 2).

I can already tell that Halo 3 will be rich in these sort of battles. I remember seeing a shot of the Chief wearing tan coloured armour standing in a desert with dual SMGs and you can see tanks and dust and stuff. i can't remember where i saw that shot, though.

Anyway, as soon as i finished Halo 2, i could immediately tell what was going to happen, if a Halo 3 were to be made. I thought (and still do think) that Gravemind will use the slipspace engines on High Charity to take the Covenant's Holy City to Earth, then launch a full-scale attack on both the "Earth forces" (Elites, Hunters, Humans & Grunts) and what's left of the Covenant (Prophets, Brutes, Drones, Jackals) at the same time (most likely on Earth). If this happens, this will make for some extremely interesting large-scale battles between the Covenant, the Humans & Co. and the the Flood (who now have control over most Covenant technology). I, for one, would love to see this happen, as well as play this on Halo 3 (unless, of course, Bungie have already planned otherwise in whch case i spit on my theory).

So... yeah. That's the theory I've had since the moment i put down the controller after Halo 2. It's just what i'd like to see happen and any parallel to the actual secret storyline is completely coincidental and unintentional.

Thanks for reading!
