Personally, i would love to have a new map that is in the forest or all in the beach or out in the open. i loved the level "silent cartogrpaher" so i hope bungie does something like that. what other kinds of maps do you like/want in Halo 3?

I'd like a "Assault The Fortress" type map, where the attackers have loads of cover, (rocks, trees, etc) and weapons, but the defenders have loads of turrets and defensive positions, such as windows.

Definitely a map thats kind of like Cairo Station. Think about it. One base has a plasma turret the other has a human one.

good thread idea, something that uses the imagination. I would like bungie to keep some existing maps like coag, beaver creek, headlong, maybe waterworks and defintely lockout and ascension. But the maps all matter on the amount of people playing on them. I think i heard halo 3 is going to hav 32 players (don't ban me shiska, im not making rumours just if it did hav 32 players) it would change my ideas ove a map.

I really love the idea of a big, fortress base with loads of turrets etc and ppl attack it. I took that of someone at the top of the thread but i had the same idea anyway.

Halo 3: Collapse
Chapter 20, Revelations, is up (update 11-14-10)
The Mirratord

Ω

Shards

"When Reach was glassed in 2552, an ONI facility deep beneath the surface survived."

This level is divided into two sections, the surface and underground. The surface is in a crater where a plasma bomb hit (no invisible walls). Everything is black, there is very little cover save for the darkness, but the ground glints in the sunlight at the right angle. There are three elevators from the surface to the underground section, which is made up of four rooms connected by destructable catwalks. Room one is the generator room, from where the lights in every other room can be shut off. Three generators line one wall, with space in-between them that is good for an ambush. Room two is the laboratory, which is a Forerunner facility that ONI dug into. Designed after the Flood deathtrap laboratory on "The Oracle" in Halo 2, this is the only room that contains Covenant weaponry. Room three is the brig, which is easily the most defensable. It is a corridor lined with cells that can be opened and provide good positions to shoot from if you crouch in them, but are also deathtraps if grenades are thrown in them. At the end of the corridor is an elevated platform with a shotgun on it and the console to open all cells simultaneously (they can't be closed again). The catwalks go through an open expanse (the three rooms are in a triangle) with a HUGE stalagtite going through the middle of them. In this stalagtite is the armory, holding a huge stockpile of weaponry, but accessable from three directions at once (a deathtrap if you stay there). Down a stairwell from the Armory is a hangar with a Banshee in it that can be thrown through the cave (there are notches in the wall elsewhere in the cave large enough to land the banshee in that are perfect for a sniper to crouch in, but highly vulnerable to rockets). Down ANOTHER stairwell from there is the office with the dead man's switch. It must be pressed once every five minutes or a bomb will go off that destroys the entire base. If I think of more to add, I will do so later.

I hope since H3 takes place on Earth the campaign levels and multiplayer maps somewhat mimic the H2 levels and maps that were located on or around earth (i.e. Elongation, Turf, Outskirts)

I would like one in a small town, and you can hide in houses

Something underwater. Of course, it would require things like breath masks to be drawn for most of the player types, assuming there are more than Spartan and Sangheili.

Or a wrecked Covenant/Human vessel in space. Lots of low gravity, and vacuum traps.

I'd like them to bring back timberland and death island, those were some awesome maps from Halo PC. I'd also like a map that plays a bit like a single player level, being quite linear and not so open, that's would be cool.

Your balls are showing...bumblebee tuna

A rundown gymnasium in the middle of an african city. No walls to hide behind, no barriers. Just two teams destroying eachother. Spawns would be so random you couldn't pinpoint players to spawn kill...hmmm maybe as big as Warlock.

"Not really. They eat their wounded."
"Just like chiropractors!" Caboose - funny -blam!-

"If god is love, then you can call me cupid" Sarge.

Whispering marine - "you'll give away our position!"
sarge - "I'll do as i damn well please!" (kills grunt with sniper rifle)
elites rule, MCs r cool

One in pitch black, with a moniter that will give away your position if you go too near him. think about it, your in a room all by yourself (you think) then a plasma grenade gets thrown and everyone in the room opens fire simultaneously shooting shadows and people. shields will give away your position.
OR
A map that has 3-4 bases, an arena with four bases built into it.the middle is for warthogs, ghosts etc. areas above the bases for rockets and snipers. No base can be entered. only opened from the inside to let out vehicles or go above the base to your "position over the arena." turrets can be added. choice of vehicles - 2-3 banshees per base, 4-5 warthogs and ghosts etc.

You've got to think crazy, of course, because you only get innovation by refining insanity. - Jason Jones

I would love to have a map where there was a good sized base at both ends. There is a river in between them along with a small forest. And connecting them is a mass of underground tunnel systems. In the middle of the map in the forest there are a set of switches hidden that if turned on will shut down a row of tunnels.
