So which website do you prefer, the old Bungie website or the the new one. For those of you who are new, the old website was around before last summer. Personally, I think that the home page for the old site was more convenient, it had more to offer. There was community news on the right, a main news banner at the top and the Bungie and Webmaster updates in the middle.

I miss the old one. The black and blue background was easy on the eyes, and I loved the old homepage.

Oh hey there

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

Last summer isn't old. The only thing that really changed was the home page.

cars, girls & cake all day everyday

The site hasn't "changed" since like '07...

  • 01.28.2012 6:32 PM PDT

I really liked the version that was between 2004 and early 2007-ish. I forget exactly when it changed, I think it was when they did the Halo 3 Beta. So basically the "Halo 2" version of the site compared to the "Halo 3/Reach/ODST" version of the site -- when people actually used the Halo 2 forum.

Everybody had blue text, ninjas had white text I think. There were a lot of really good group themes. I just liked the design of the site more. Granted, the old site doesn't even compare to the new one functionality-wise, but there was something about the old site that was charming.

It would lure you in, until you could no longer think for yourself...until you could no longer resist...once you looked at your stats, you HAD to create a profile...and post. And post. And....post.....

Yes, there're too many numbers in my name.

I prefer the older style, where there were multiple news articles, with some added goodies along the right and bottom portions of the screen.

but I think in the future Bungie will revert their front page to a more convenient style focusing on user appeal.

I liked the older homescreen a little better. It seemed easier to access older news posts.

The new one does look more aesthetically pleasing though.

I wouldn't know about the site before '08. And I meant the homepage.

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

I liked the old one better, but thats only because of the comm chatter.

The website layout has changed over the time, but I prefer to use the website before it merged into Halo-era.

I liked the front page layout much better on the old website but as for everything else I like it better now.

  • 01.28.2012 8:49 PM PDT

I did like the old home page better. But like others have said, it's not that much of a change.

Ask any question. I'll help with anything on site or off.

The old one of coarse.

I like the current one, though it's almost pretty much the only one I know and the closest I've come to using an older version is when I went looking for mister chief art one time on some archive website and a lot of the pictures in the weekly updates didn't work.

I'm happy as long as there is Bungie.net.

Agreed. It felt a lot more connected to community.

This was the layout I was talking about earlier. Those were the days.
