Subject: Why was Bloom Invented?

Hello. Reach is the first Halo game I have played and my style is mostly recreational.

Since they took it out in the TU why was it invented anyways? If I get the drop on someone I want them dead in however long it takes me to land 5 shots, not a set time of at least 2 seconds with bloom.

Because Bungie wanted to add bad gameplay mechanics.

Bloom has been around since Halo CE on automatic weapons but never on precision weapons

Hey, uh, if you like vs threads, then check out this little group right here, if you have the time. It's pretty fun, just hop right in.

To give competitives something to whine about.

To give casuals something to defend like it's the friggin' Armageddon.

Want a cool clan? Join FRAG!

Want a war sim? The best war sim in Halo, Forerunner Conflict.

To make Halo more "mainstream", I guess. Seeing as Halo was the only popular modern shooter without bloom.

chances are I don't care who you are or what you say.

Grumpy Grunt, signning off...

Beacuse the Explosion used to launch the projectile from the gun causes the gun to bounce back and create recoil... Therfore causing a brief moment of incuracy.

I <3 Halo:Reach - amazingly fun and best campaign + amazing Soundtrack
I <3 Halo 3:ODST - best soundtrack + Firefight + Coastal Highway and Mombassa Streets, amazingly unique campaign.
I <3 Halo 3 - best multiplayer levels + Forge + best Custom Games + soundtrack
I <3 Halo 2 - amazing huge fun campaign + soundtrack + Fun multiplayer
I <3 Halo: CE - started it all

A portion of bloom was in Halo:CE, so I'm assuming they've always wanted to add it.

However, with the regular bloom, they wanted you to pace your shots, so when someone is far away, pace the shots, and when someone is alittle closer, you can go more wild.

I feel they just made the reticule take alittle to long to go back into the middle, and that 85% is what it always should have been.

But let's be honest, it didn't alter gameplay at all.

Also CE is overrated. (inb4 flames)

To stop the BR/DMR from being some super-powerful all-situation-ready weapon. Because let's face it- that's boring and makes gameplay stale and repetitive.

Sure they didn't implement Bloom correctly in the end, but that doesn't change why it was put in in the first place.

>Decrease scope range
>Make shorter range weapons more effective in short range

Funny thing. That didn't work and DMRs are still overdominant in default.

Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

To give competitives something to whine about.

To give casuals something to defend like it's the friggin' Armageddon.

Even though with Bloom...

Competitives have every tool available to them to make bloom benefit them in more ways than it benefits a casual.

Teamwork overcomes bloom.
Bloom -blam!-s you over in a 1v1... right?
So don't do 1v1 battles.

Casuals don't have a team backing them up
Competitive players do.

Yet competitives are the ones crying about bloom.

Isn't it amazing?

If anything, the only people who should be getting up to cry about bloom would be casual players who go into MM solo. Because that is the crowd that Bloom -blam!-s over. Not you.

And if you're going to cry becasue some noob was smart enough to spam the trigger in a CQC scenario while you tried to act all skillful and pace....Then you're just a -blam!- idiot.

It's like, if I'm spamming the trigger wide open and your body is filling up 85% of that reticule, Why the -blam!- are you crying about a person spamming the trigger in that scenario?
Why are you trying to pace against that spammer, in a CQC scenario?

When you can figure that out, you might figure out why all this -blam!-ing about bloom was the biggest -blam!- waste of -blam!- time a community has ever come together to -blam!- about.

I mean, we have quit bans forcing people to stay in 4v1, -blam!- playlists, no custom matchmaking service. But lets focus on bloom. Bloom is what's driving people away.......

You people are -blam!- IDIOTS!!!!!

IF Bloom is what drives you away...GOOD BYE! We don't need stupid little nitpickers like you anyway.

Seriously on a list of major problems with this game. Bloom is at the BOTTOM of the list as far as I'm concerned.

Still better than you.

.....most of you, at least.

Bloom was a great idea, but executed poorly. The idea was that people who learnt how to control it would always win, while thosse people spamming errantly would always lose. Sadly, it didn't work like that.

It didn't work like that, because people think that pacing is supposed to beat spam in a CQC scenario...

That's where all this crying about bloom originated from.
