So apparently H2V won't work on a Nvidia 540M?

1. Why not?

2. Who Not?

Because of it's design. I can't remember exactly but Halo 2 only recognises the integrated and so it won't work.

Can't confirm but that was the reason if memory serves. There was no fix.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

Because H2V's crappy coding doesn't detect that GPU and assumes you're running on integrated graphics.

Who does?

You can still play Halo PC/CE, which is better in my opinion in most areas :)

Only thing I can suggest is get a PC, there's nothing you can do to play it on a 540m unfortunately...either that or an Xbox with XBC/Xlink Kai to play online :/

Halo 2 thinks it's integrated, but it's not Integrated. Theoretically if you make Halo 2 think it is not integrated it will work.

DXTweaker springs to mind. I wonder if it is compatible with more modern titles such as Halo 2...

Follow these steps, use Halo 2 instead of course. Report back if it works

I believe it didn't work last time someone complained with a 540m...i suppose there's no harm in trying but I'm doubtful at this point.

Last member of the i4Ni clan.

I have a laptop with 540m and integrated graphics, I just forced h2v to use the 540m and turned vsync on, I run at full fps except when I'm recording.

You should make a guide on how you did that so I can add it to the FAQ.

Ok, so I just installed H2V trial and it works fine? (Beforehand I set 540M as default for everything though through the Nvidia control panel) So maybe it's been patched/doing this fixes the 540M problem? Or when I buy the full game will it stop working?

Installing Halo 2 without entering a registration code, therefor only being able to access the first level, Trial/Demo

But yeah, unlike Actual Demo's/Trial's there was none released for Halo 2

This must be recently fixed. Until a few months ago, NO ONE could play Halo 2 Vista with that card.

In any case, glad it's working though.
