ok i really dont think that you be able to play as the arbitor agian. To me, when it switches over to him, i see it as a severe breach of character. with the 360's capabilies, you could easily make longer cutscenes that look gorgeous and would give it more of a cinematic POP but still show what the arbitor is doing.

I doubt it, it'd be hard to deny people the right to play as the Arbiter now that we already have.

"You must face the truth squarely and without flinching from duty. Our enemies are mortal no longer. Mercy for such as they is a chimera, self-deception is its only ally. Dedicate this weapon, given unto your hand at the behest of the Emperor, to their destruction. Regard its function as your only duty: you live only to bring cleansing fire."

True.
But, If they make the Marines better, they might be as good as the Covenant...maybe.

well playing as a single character in halo 1 is what made it stand out to me, staying as the chief gave the covies an air of mystery. but in halo 2 bungie gave us some insite into there highierarchy and how they function. now that they have done that, we should play as they chief and have those memorable game moments like the beach landing on the first

The Arbiter is likely to be back and highly playable, otherwise he is a loose end. They need to tie it all up in this. So the Arbiter will likely be very playable.

It is a fact the Arbiter had the better and more in depth story than the Masterchief, full of betrayal and revenge. Masterchief's campagne was simply go here kill this, go here kill that, while entertaining, was not nearly as good as the arbiters story. And besides the Arbiter didn't kill Halo 2's story, that was bad game mechanics and rushed production schedule.

I hated the Arbitor.

In fact since beating the campaign, I've never played any of those levels again - not even once.

I'd hate to think that once again I'll get half a game because I'm stuck using someone other than the game's icon for a good portion of it.

Want to "wrap up" his story? Show him dying a horrible, painful death right in a cutscene at the beginning of the game. I'd pay money just for that ;)

they can tye up his story line and that of miranda, the sarges, and 343's, and cortonas. but just do it in high octane action packed action sequenses that leave your jaw hanging. make halo 3 the conclusions of all conclusions.

I wouldn't say the Arbiter is > Master Chief, but to not play as the Arbiter again would leave a big gap now...

Who cares about the Arbiter and his problems? I kicked the Covenant's asses on Halo, and now I'm supposed to feel sorry for the guy in charge of them? Please.

The covenant are portrayed as savage, relentless foes. But now in Halo 2 you're supposed to emphathise with a soft voiced elite, who's troops you wiped the floor with, pasted the walls with, and spattered the ceilings with?

I mean, they've only been destroying humanity for no apparent reason for 30 years. But let's forgive and forget right?

sorry for all the Arbiter haters out there, he will play a role in Halo 3 because he is the leader of the Covenant rebellion, and because Keyes, and Jhonson have gone with him en route to the Ark.

Bingo, I did sympathize a lot with the Arbiter and I look forward to him and the Chief (along with humanity and all the rebellious Covenant races) making their last stand.

That is exactly how I felt. But for Halo 3, we have to play as him, because as others have pointed out, we have to finish his stroyline.
