Actually, you don't lose any brain cells when playing video games, on the forums, or anything electronic. Actually, you probably would with all that rage, slamming your head on your keyboard. Never mind.

lmfao, I win all life checks that's what's best.

Life checks are worthless, no one wins. Besides mine was just an impulsive reply.

Solution to betrayals.

At first, one might simply say "turn off friendly fire", and this could be a feasible solution. However, I occasionally put one bullet in my teammate if I am trying to get his attention, like if I want to get in the side seat of his revenant, or in the gun of his hog.

What I think would be good is if
1. Betrayals didn't count as deaths (so that no one can ruin a perfection because you took the sniper first
2. When you are betrayed, you don't drop any guns or grenades
3. You spawn with the same weapons and grenades as you originally had

What do you think?
What are some other solutions to problems?

BTW... All disrespectful, immature, off-topic, or uneducated posts will be ignored.

That could work. The only problem I thought of was abusing the 3rd option. Let's say one teammate has the rockets and sniper. He runs out of ammo and gets one of his friends to betray him. Instant power weapon spawn.

Yeah, that is one disadvantage... However, in my original post, I meat with the same ammo and clip.

If they keep the same ammo then what happens to the guy who was unfortunately betrayed when he just happened to have no ammo? Sure he can pick it up from dead bodies but he will most likely just be killed because he has no way to shoot back.

Hmmmm..... Maybe if one of the weapons is out, then it gets replaced by a DMR/AR?

1. Yeah, I don't think they should count to your deaths (so you can retain your spree or perfection), but the betrayer (and your team) should still lose a point.
2. This I disagree with. This is so easily exploitable. What I'd suggest is you drop your weapons and nades, but the betrayer (or maybe even your whole team, in case the betrayer has a guest pick up your weapon) can't pick up your weapons until 15 seconds or so. That way, players can't abuse it and prevent opponents from siezing weapons.
3. With my idea for no.2, you can spawn with your usual AR/DMR starts and have a chance to recover your weapons without betrayers taking them first.

That's my solution.

Also, you said you would ignore the trollers, but all you're doing is feeding them.

The game's betrayal system should just recognize some simple things-

What weapon were you betrayed with?

Simple enough. If they did it all with their DMR, AR, and grenades then 1 betrayal = Boot option.

But if they did it with a tank, Wraith, Rockets, if you were already hurt and they 1 shot you with the DMR, 2 betrayals = boot option. So if it was "instakill" or they only did a little bit of damage to you, they get another chance.

That would probably work a lot better... But there are still flaws.

There are more flaws in the current system and in every proposal I've heard thus far.

Until someone comes up with a better idea, I will stick with mine.

I think your Idea is excellent. The only problem I can think of is if someone has a personal vendetta against someone on their team, who has just been shot once by the sniper and is trying to hide behind cover.

You could only do it twice, and is much better when compared to the current system.

It is an acceptable flaw.

Last member of the i4Ni clan.

if you spawned with the same weaps/grenades, a teammate could just keep a br on you and when you were about to die betray you so you wouldn't lose power weapons to the enemies.

How about not shoot teammates. Anyways, if reach is like most halos you get a ping on your screen when a teammate shoots you even when team damage is off.

how bout just not shoot rockets at your teammates anymore :/

Honestly I get booted alot but I mean to
Getting booted because I sucked enough to kill half my team rarely happens bc i wasn't bored with downs

also for future FYI
If someone betrays you like 3 times and you to him once and get booted, dont blame the system bc its doing its job. If you betray and get booted 1st time it means you have a history of betraying people so no pity 4 you

I have betrayed around 10 people since Reach came out, and I got booted the other day on "The first betrayal" because a kid ran onto my grenade.

This can be easily abused.

I say add a vote-kick. Which can also be abused. But I would appreciate it more than your method.

  • 01.29.2012 9:08 PM PDT

How about a system, where each player has a 2 betrayal limit, instead of whoever makes the second/third betrayal is booted?

Inheritor #156 :p

No system is ever going to be perfect, no matter what system they put into the game people are going to find problems with it. They aren't going to take FF off so we just have to deal with what's in the game.

  • 01.29.2012 9:21 PM PDT

There is a simple solution. Just make it that when you betray someone on purpose or accident, you can't pick up any weapons until you die and respawn. Nobody would betray people for good weapons because they couldn't pick them up.

  • 01.29.2012 9:34 PM PDT

Solution : Ban all the immature players, or create a playlist called friendly fire.

The game should be able to tell with what the betrayer used as a weapon. If it was a melee weapon they basically had to do that on purpose. If it was rockets or some other explosive it shouldn't be a big deal if the betrayer killed an enemy as well. Also if your teammate runs you over with a mongoose it has to be on purpose.

You make it sound people don't intentionally betray with Rockets or nades.

For the most part no. people make it extremely personal and shoot you a little with their dmr etc. maybe punch you. I have almost never saw someone go out of their way to get rockets which is usually in the middle of maps. Betrayers generally stay by their base troll, punch, and t-bag.
