Subject: rampant quitting

It's the new "cool". Kids have single-handledly ruined this game. Over the past 2 days, maybe 2% of my games saw everyone stay until the end. We need the playlists to be "stupid" and "mature enough to finish the game".

Lol

People quit because they don't want to play against people better than them usually.

 • 01.29.2012 8:22 PM PDT

I had all but one person drop out on the opposing team ... he get annihilated ... so I sent a message saying thanks for staying in the game. He said 'lol dont wanna get banned'

:)

Relax. I'd rather not piss this thing off.

-Master Chief

Sometimes players quit if they have to go, there team is bad, or going against someone with higher skill than them.

 • 01.29.2012 8:50 PM PDT

I've done the same thing, thanking someone if they're the only one left on the opposing team. That happened only once. It's always my team that drops out. Just had a game where 6 kids left my team to go play another game. They talked about it. Me and one other guy held off the opposing team from getting our flag, but it usually ends up badly.

He was devoted and a true believer in the pursuit of wealth. No odd disaster or mishap could bend the determination of such an obsessed and driven individual."

It's actually kinda fun going against eight other guys with only you and your buddy in BTB,but when someone quits in infection and you become a zombie...

It would be one thing if it was occasional quitting, but for the past 2 days, it's been almost every game.

But then you go play an invasion match and manage to take out a banshee with a sword. That makes up for 1 of the 2 days. Haha.

I used to love being handicapped in halo 3's matchmaking. It would be 1vs3 and I would usually end up winning (before MLG came along and raped and pillaged the game of it's innocence) And I always wanted a handicap team playlist 2v3 or 3v4 etc.

Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

So I said thanks, for padding my stats..
I just love playing uneven matches against dumbasses too afraid of the quit ban to leave so we can all move on with our lives into a better more even matchup.

Thanks, For contributing to an even worse problem than the original quitters.

Thanks, for encouraging people to be dumbasses and waste other peoples time.

BTW, the people that quit...are not wasting your time. Not as much as the guy that remained.

THINK ABOUT THAT!

And quit thanking people for being stupid.

I mean, do you really enjoy spending 10+ minutes playing 1v4.. or worse?

OK then, if 3 of the opposing team quit.

WHY THE -blam!- ARE YOU THANKING THAT LAST PERSON?!?!?! for NOT QUITTING!?!?!?!

If anything, you should have sent him hate mail for not following the rest of those -blam!-s out the door.

It's like DUH! your team quit. This is no longer a game worth playing. LEAVE! And when you get banned, be sure to throw this worthless quit ban bull-blam!- right in Bungies face.

After all, it's only 10 minutes right.
You're going to thank a person for wasting your time over fear of a 10 minute ban....

It's no wonder this game is such a peice of -blam!-...Because Bungie was making it for dumbasses like you.

That's generally the modus operandi around here, isn't it?

Still better than you.

.....most of you, at least.

If it's 4v4 slayer, and the other team is full of randoms (i.e. not a party) then I prefer my teammates to quit, because then I can win on my own, without having to deal with them. Outside of that situation, quitting sucks.

Reasons People Quit Matchmade Games in any gamemode:

1. The opposing team is far better than they are.
2. The opposing team is a full party.
3. The game latency is high. (crappy host)
4. They are embarrassed/frustrated. (many quit after assassination)
5. They are being spawn camped over and over.
6. Their team mates lack a significant amount of skill.
7. Getting Booted for accidental betrayal.
8. Not the map they want.
9. Not the gametype they want.
10. Playing on a team of partychat or no-mics.
11. Betrayers.
12. Booted for betraying.
13. Other Team is going for kills instead of completing the Objective, and winning the game.
14. Other Team controls vehicles and power weapons
15. Enemy steals power weapons.
16. Skilled players refuse to do anything but sit back and get kills while you try for the objective.
17. Friendly fire destroys your vehicle because your team doesn't realize you were in it.
18. AFK team mates.
19. They are not Having FUN

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

People quit because they can't accept the fact that what they want isn't happening. How they manage in real life is a mystery to me.

Duh ... but those same people quit in other games as well.
And other games cope - how can bungie be that stupid?

People drive cars in illogical ways.
Some slam on the brakes in an uncontrolled jump when faced with a crisis. But car designers design systems that cope, ABS, ALB etc. Is bungie stupid or lazy??

Why is it that other studios can learn and adapt?
But bungies first thought is 'ban engine'?

Go cry to bungie.

Well that ones of them.

*guy quits before games starts* = unbalanced game (another) = quit.

People quit because they can't accept the fact that what they want isn't happening. How they manage in real life is a mystery to me.

THIS.
It's the self-entitlement crowd. They don't get the map/game they wanted, they quit immediately, and it's a domino effect. This is a TEAM effort. But these self-centered, "it's all about me" kids, that are being raised wrong because hippies have taken away the ability for parents to beat their ass, can't understand the word team. Only 14yr old girls should act that way, as it is in their nature, but now all kids do. I'd rather eat a bullet than be surrounded by a bunch of selfish 14yr old girls.
