I couldn't find this thread anywhere, and even consulting the "Threads of Interest" Sticky at the top of the page, couldn't find this...

Halo 3 is going to be released for the 360, right?

So far, every game I've ever played has "Achievements" to give you "Gamerpoints".

Well, this is basically to see what kinds of "Achievements" you would like to see in the game, or what you think they will put in the game.

I think they should have achievements for beating the game on every difficulty...

Maybe some achievements for multiplayer (1000 total kills and the like)...

Some achievements for completing levels without dying a single time (awesome challenge in my opinion)...

Finding some secret skulls (like in Halo 2)....

Maybe some others like that.

What kind of Achievements would you guys like to see?

I like the Achievement idea, but I hate how most games have it rely on online or multiplayer.... And if they don't... They're VERY hard to get...

And if not hard, time consuming. Maybe Bungie can fix that a little? I don't know. I'm just excited to see what Bungie would make as "Achievements" in the game.

(10:20:17 PM) Pezza: You were the one with the video camera breathing heavily. Of course you saw.

They should have 2000 points for beating the game on the Legendary difficulty, just so people will be more willing to try and beat it, therefore becoming better at the game.

What's your gamerscore anyway? Mine's aabout 3900, King Kong has the easiest achievements, just play the game, hopefully Halo 3 won't be that way.

You do realize that Microsoft holds a policy of no more than 1,000 gamerscore points per game, right?

I have a Gamerscore of around 650 or so.

I found that Gauntlet was the easiest game to score achievements on (I have all but two, and need to do some internet play to get them).

I have a few points on other games... Joust and Hexic seem to be the hardest to attain them on...

Perfect Dark Zero is MOSTLY multiplayer... And because I don't play with friends much, and nobody ever seems to play it online.... Well... it's a pain in the butt to get some of my achievements.

I hate playing Dead or Alive 4.... I played it until I got the Spartan and then quit.

I have no achievements to gain on Final Fantasy XI...

So yeah.

I just hope Halo doesn't have some VERY time consuming achievements. I don't want to have to spend like 40 hours on one achievement. Like on Dead or Alive 4... An Achievement for playing for 100 hours... THAT is stupid. And if you can EVER have a non-laggy game or keep from waiting in line... you could get many of the multiplayer achievements as well... Stuff like "win 20 matches in a row" is rather insane... You dont' even win 20 online matches in a row on HALO.

Lets' face it... many of the achievements in some of these games are just ANNOYING to try to attain...

Oh yeah, I do play Outpost Kaloki X... But because of some glitches I heard about... some of my achievements would be impossible to obtain... And I'm not wasting time on a game where I can't get the achievements...

But I would like to see an achievement for beating the game on EVERY difficulty setting in Halo 3... Like... individually. It could record what you have and have not beaten on every difficulty... And hold it over until you beat the full Campaign.

And I do like the medal idea. Though... some of them would be HARD without cooperation from a large group of people, ha ha.

I dunno, I just want some Achievements that EVERYONE can attain without having to play for hours on end to become GODLY at the game... I don't have the time or patience to become Godly at ANY game, much less Halo... And I LOVE Halo...

Its called gamerscore, and they're hard for a reason.
Why would they make it easy for everyone to get all the gamerscore?

If you want free gamerscore, try any sports game.

I understand why there are some "difficult" ones. I really do...

But awarding 10 or 20 points for a particularly difficult one, that took you six to ten hours to get...

Sounds kind of stupid. Their proportions are off...

I could see if you used the Gamerscore points to GET or DO anything... But you don't. They're simple bragging rights... And I only use them to measure how "complete" of a game I have...

And in Dead or Alive 4... You get achievements for being HORRIBLE at the game. I think if they're giving out achievements for that, they could at least make some of the OTHER achievements easier to attain. And I'm sorry, but I refuse to play it for 100 hours. It's not happening. I barely played to the sixteen hour mark.

And an achievement for beating level 100 on Joust is almost ridiculous. I'm sorry, I don't have that kind of time to devote to the game. I am NOT sitting down and playing through the game over and over and over until I get to 100 and then beat it. It's hard enough to get to level ten and beat it!

I still haven't cracked the high score!

In short... Some achievements are just ridiculous and demand you have OCD when it comes to gaming.

I didn't realize that, maybe if i actually owned a 360. I cry at night, no Oblivion, no GRAW, nights are lonely. Well without Halo 2 they would be more lonely.

Crazy fool... Why do you always have to jump?! One of these days you're gonna land on something as stubborn as you are! ...And I don't do bits and pieces...

Gamer Tag - Mjolnir Hero

I hope that they track how many kills youve made all together online... so like when you reach 500, you get 50G... 1000, you get 100Gp, so on and so forth 10,000 kills 1000GP, I think that would be awesome, PLUS, like me, and my friends, we play all the time online, and I have no clue around how many kills Ive gotten all together probably in like the 10,000 mark at LEAST, Ive spent soooo much time playing online... I would love to see how many kills I can gather.... that would own...

i think alot of time consumeing online ones would be good, one for getting every badge maybe, so many flags captured, skull held for so long...etc

then the common beat game on normal and such, but have it so if u beat it on hard u dont ahve to go threw again on normal and easy...

co-op would be good too

I really hoped they didnt have acheivments for any of the 360 games, it ruins the value of the game, tell me; if you were to play the game condemned, and you knew there were unlockables that were hard to reach, you'd keep playing till you got them. But since they added acheivments its basically like screw it, i have all the achievments; why keep playing. That's just my opinion, i believe games should be fun not really a competition or for bragging rights on who has the most gamerscore points. So i know bungie doesnt care what i think but i'd just like to play the game for fun like in the original xbox halo games.

No one should ever be afraid of looking stupid, so long as they are making a rational effort to expand their understanding.

Why is it so important to you that other people become better at this or any game? Why can't people play to their own standard, or for their own fun?

lol....so true. no one is the best because there's always someone better.

on to topic...
multiplayer medals, campaign difficulty, easter eggs, beating a level in a certain time, bf2 like achievements...i'd hate to see something like 10k kills type achievements...i don't play games long enough to get stuff like that.
