Okay, so everybody is starting to annoy with their knowledge of the Spartan Programs in Halo, so I decided to post a thread.

The Spartan I program, also known as Orion, was started to test the idea of a "Super Soldier" by using bio-augmentation to improve the volunteers from the Special Forces both mentally and physically. This project started in 2496, and although it was successful in missions, it was too expensive and the improvements weren't as great as scientists expected.

Rumours say that Sgt. Johnson was a volunteer for the program, personnally I disagree because that would mean that by 2552 he would have to be about 70, which I highly doubt he is.

The Spartan II Program was the project based on the Spartan I Program where specially chosen children about 6 years old were "kidnapped" and replaced with clones which died not long after. This Program was ran on Reach where Chief Mendez and Halsey trained the children into Super Soldiers. The Spartan IIs included the Spartan IIs from Halo: Reach (THEY WERE NOT SPARTAN Is OR SPARTAN IIIs), Master Chief and Fred and Linda etc from the Halo books BEFORE Ghosts of Onyx.

The Spartan III Program was created by Halsey's rival Colonol Ackerson, where they were intended to be produced cheaper with a shorter life span because they were sent on "suicide" missions and stealth operations. These Spartans were trained on Onyx with Mendez before they entered the Shield World (Dyson Sphere) and discovered the forerunner technology.

At the moment, I am at the end of Halo: Glasslands but I haven't finished it yet. The Spartans currently alive are Fred, Linda and Kelly (Spartan IIs) and Tom, Lucy, (some others that I forgot their names) and Katana Team in Forerunner "Cryo tubes" in medical conditions (Spartan IIIs), and obviously John :D .

P.S For any idiots who don't know, Halo: Wars is based on the war on Harvest in 2525 with the first encounter with the covenant, and they were Spartan IIs.

---------------------------------------------------

Ok, I read up about it and fair enough I was wrong about Noble Team, I can understand how they had different coloured mjolnir armor, one thing still doesn't make sence though.

Halsey was suprised about the Spartan IIIs when she found them on Onyx, so did she know these spartans on Noble Team were infact Spartan IIIs? She had to though because she remembers all the children who she signed up to the Spartan Program.

Also the thing about Johnson in the Orion project is true then because I found it in Contact Harvest, but is there a book that goes into depth? Because it only mentions the word in this book and doesnt explain anything. I already know about it from Halo Wiki I just wanted to read it from one of the books.

I'm going to invade your heart like a barn swallow high on milk chocolate and grandma love.

Fairness is only possible within the limited powers of man. Elsewhere, there is only chance.

Thus I refute thee.

Johnson is old man.

I'm pretty sure that was a fact, not a rumor.

As for the Spartan IIIs, how do you explain Noble Team?

Oh yeah, it makes no sense cannon wise. =C

K, Noble Team, except Jorge, were Spartan IIIs given MJOLNIR armor. No one really knows why. Look at their number designations. All of them except Kat and Six have an A before their number, for Alpha, while Kat and Six have a B, for Bravo. Alpha and Bravo designations were never used for the Spartan II program because there was only 1 class.

Johnson was a member of Project Orion. Many people fail to take into consideration just how much time soldiers spend in Cryo sleep, where aging is slowed to a near stop. Thats why soldiers like the Chief, Johnson, Buck, and Forge, can still be fighting fit and looking like their in their 20s rather than looking 40.

Welcome to the internet. Joy dies here.

So are you just pulling all of this out of your ass, or do you actually have anything to back this up? Because Noble Team are all Spartan-IIIs with the exception of Noble 6, and that's a fairly well publicized piece of information. Just off bungie.net you can find information indicating that it's not possible for any Spartan II to be on Reach other than Noble 6, precluding the possibility of the remainder of Noble Team being anything other than Spartan IIIs, albeit in Spartan II armor.

I think you mean Noble 5. Jorge is a spartan 2, six is a spartan 3

That's called a "canon-break."

Currently being patented by Bungie for Reach's storyline versus established book canon, and LucasArts for The Clone Wars versus the Republic Commando books.

So were Buck and Forge in the Orion program?
