This apple is brown, and rotten. This orange on the other hand, is in relatively average shape. So the orange is definitely the preferable option.
----------You can't compare apples and oranges. You're so dumb.

1. Halos are circular objects that are above the head of angels or saints

2. The covenant is the word used instead of agreement in the bible

3. Halos story is obviously based upon Noahs Ark in which god creates a flood but before doing so tells noah to build an ark

4. Halo is largly resembles prophecies of the end times or the later days most of which found in the new testament.

5. In the halo novels we learn that there is two ONI ai's that share the names of two fallen angels from the book of enoch (offically biblicaly canon and mentioned twice in the new testament).

6. In the middle of new mombasa during halo 2 is a tower that goes miles and miles above the clouds this is the tower of babel from the old testamanet. Also note that the tower of babel was in babylon and according to revelations babylon (new mombasa) falls a tad bit before the very end.

7. John 117 resembles that of john from the bible.

So there we go...

P.S if you think there is any way that the references , places or names are all concidental then you don't know Bungie very well let alone common sense very well.

Because people like things that have to do with the Bible? IE: the Da Vinci Code
And Bungie wants to make what people like to earn money so they can pay the moderaters in real money, not just Banhammers. (They are fun to some extent, but it just doent give you food, or a place to live.)

We won't know until Halo 3 comes out. But there is a great symbolic nature here. I recommend reading through Revelation. That's all about the end of the world.
I'm not going to talk about my view of the symbolism, 'cause I'll either embaress myself or be wrong. It's too soon to be making big accusations, but Bungie knows what they're doing.
P.S., the reason it's based on the Bible, would be because the Bible rocks, and it's good to base things on it.
P.S., DaVinchi code sux!

Their are just to many simiaritys, ark, halo, MC will die in the end (like Jeasus)... it'll be weird if the ark is Noaa's and Cortana betrays him (Judas).

Halo 2 lives on.

nobody thinks its based on the bible,.. if they do than they are retarded. there arent any aliens, master chiefs, mutated flood people, or giant halos and crystals that mess up slipspace in teh bible...

Well, the spartan could be the believer who knows what is right and what is not.....the covenant could be the people in the world that are the sinners but think that they are righteous, and last of all are the flood which take and mutate the minds of other to be "sinners" as well....

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

1. It's about good and evil, so in a sense it is influenced by the Bible.

2. I believe the Spartan reference comes from the small group of Spartans(as said) fighting a huge group of soldiers(I think the Persians) at Thermopylae.

Correct, but the Ark is also "The Ark of The Covenant", and a Covenant is a promise between yourself and God. And I'm not sure about the Tower of Babel.. It's just a space elevator, but I suppose that could be true as well.

I no that the battle actually did occur, but i dont no the specifics. All i know is that the 300 spartans held the line long enough for something important to hppen. I think they all died though. Not sure.

I know they did. They were under a constand Hail of arrows to pin down the Spartans. I also know that Spartans didn't like Archers because they barely ever engaged in close combat ^^ (AKA they'd hate snipers today, lol) But yeah, they were doomed to begin with, but they did a massive amount of damage to the Immortals. (in our times, OWNED!)

The Flood, The Ark....sounds alot like how Noah's ark saved life from God's flood I think.

Bungie probably wanted to make the best video game ever, so they used themes from the best book ever. :)

Any game or book or movie that is about the end of the world is and will alway be compared to the bible. Even if they aren't based on each other at all. There is a lot of influence in the Halo games and books from the bible. Like many people have pointed out look at the names.

It's all about what you want to be in there. If I wanted to say the Halo video games are about american politics I can pull several things from the games and tell how they relate to american politics. Just try it. Like I said it's all about your point of view.

I don't think it's based on the Bible, but it's undeniable that it is influenced by a lot of it's theology and terminology. Such as: "The Ark", the "Truth and Reconciliation", "Halo", prophets, etc... But it also has names from other theologies such as the name Tartorus which is from Greek mythology. Maybe it is based on the Bible, but if it is, I don't think that Bungie will risk alienated so many of the people that are buying their games.

Dude it is so obviously such as many of the similarities with the covenant and the Egyptians and anyone else who conquered the then Jews. Also the humans are supposed to be gods ppl and I think MC is prbly supposed to be Jesus and MAYBE cortana Moses but u never know 4 sure. These are just my thoughts so feel free to add to them.
