Obviously games with a story line were pretty rare back then.

...Yet Marathon was a much faster game than Pathways, and it had higher-resolution graphics and better effects. It even had a story line, involving an interstellar colony ship that had been taken over by aliens... lol
Yeah back then developers were actually creative. EVERY game was an RPG! Why? Because you could make your own story!
:D

"I am the White Triangle of the Gods. It is my destiny to destroy the white squares lest they sit there for all eternity, learning and knowing and plotting and scheming. And in my way? The white lines of death- minions of the white squares, whose sole purpose is to eliminate me and my triangle."

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

But does it say why they called it "Bungie"?

Only Jason Jones and Alex know that. :p

Remember,
It is easy to be male
it is another thing to be a man.

Nice find Ken.
Funny how much the gaming community has changed in the time since. And sadly how some people's view on it hasn't.
Myth includes blood and gore--and is therefore enmeshed in the controversy surrounding violent entertainment.

Yep, Bungie has been making M games a long time. People were rally up tight about gaming years ago and some people still try to blame violent video games on the actions of some individuals.

I am glad Bungie does what it wants.

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”
- Dawes, A little bit of everything

Cool article. Thank you for sharing this with us, Ken.
