"So much of what we do is ephemeral and quickly forgotten, even by ourselves, so it's gratifying to have something you have done linger in people's memories." John Williams
So today I was eating my daily bagel, and I've figured out that here on Bungie.net, we're doing it wrong!
You see, when new accounts are created on Bungie.net, we limit their capabilities for 24 hours - no posting threads. While this helps cut down on spam for new questions, we should instruct them on how to go about their daily visits on Bungie.net.
Example Video
It's clear that the law is layed out for LIttle Billy here on how to post on the forums. Many people have this new idea to just start a new thread to ask their question. I think it would be wise for Bungie.net to follow suit in making walkthrough videos.
After all, we want to protect Little Billy from being made fun of for posting a repeat thread, or false information. Maybe after new users watch this video 7 times through, they will be able to post new threads on their desire.
it reminds me of getting hired for a new job, you must watch the walkthroughs to learn the "ifs" and "buts" of forum posting. After all, bnet is srs bziness and we want to make sure that everyone has the best experience in their time. I know that you want the same thing to happen.
Perhaps this community video should be made for Bungie.net and not use a Steam video - and be sent to users once they're banned? Just a thought.
