Often on this site I have found myself wishing for the ability to embed images directly onto the page, rather than only being able to link to them. The reason we aren't allowed to do this, however, is clear; there are a lot of people here who aren't mature enough to have such a feature, and would abuse it.

So how about letting the Exalted members do it? Reaching Exalted status shows you to be responsible and unlikely to do anything worthy of a ban, does it not? And wouldn't it incentivize members to behave better if that good behavior had a tangible benefit?

No one should be allowed to. Just because you have a title doesn't mean you won't post weird things. Like the Mythic groups swimsuit photos.

And lets be honest here, they're only used negatively in the forums anyway. Whenever an employee embeds an image the thread is derailed.

If I am not posting, then I am reading what you might have posted.

Regard of what prefix/title you may have, people still like to abuse what is given to them, and it only creates spam.

So, Death or Bungie?

I think only Bungie Employees should be able to.

I don't think letting a certain user group having privileges over another would be fair, with the obvious exception of the Ninjas.

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

Members have the Exalted title because they DON'T post weird (trolling) things. And if we ever do, we get banned or warned and LOSE the Exalted status. The same rules could apply to posting images. If an Exalted member abuses his/her ability, they receive a ban/warning and lose their title AND image posting powers. You have to be clean for THREE years to reach Exalted status. You think someone would give up the title and ability to troll once, maybe twice with images before they are stopped?

Let me get this straight; you really want me to post stuff like this, this, this and this all the time?

you would lose your Exalted status, and thus the image-posting ability, if you did that.

That already happens with group creation; users have to be members for a least a fortnight before being able to create a group.

Members can also be inactive for three years and be ban free and have Exalted. Then they can come back and there we go.

And the Mythic swimsuit pictures aren't trolling, it's just nasty.

How? Those don't break any rules as long as I post them where they aren't off-topic.

I am exalted, and I would certainly not trust myself nor people of my same status with such a enormous responsibility and privilege.

What about the people like me and InsaneAssas1n9, who have the title but still disagree with the idea?

Why can't we put Bungie Cards here?

I don't really think they (we?) should.

First of all there isn't much point to embedding images in the first place, and second of all it would create a situation where not all members have the same privileges - a bad thing in my opinion.

That's a lot less prohibitive than having to wait 3 years without any bans or warnings

Why does everyone think it's so important that all members have the same privileges? Why shouldn't members that consistently behave appropriately get special privileges above those who don't?

Yes. As an Exalted member I feel that I can vouch for all of us in saying that we will never, ever, ever! abuse this privilege. Ever.

(I kid. It's a worse idea then giving Mythic members extra privileges. You can't vouch for ever Exalted member. Heck, half of the population of Exalted users are probably just people who haven't logged into their account in a really long time, and in turn, haven't had the chance to do anything ban worthy.)
