I hope ranks will do numbers again...but i just want rank to actually reflect skill level as opposed to the amount of luck you have...
The thing is, too many people get obsessed with rank...then that forces people to cheat to make them feel good....or play the game in an obsessive manner..i.e. yelling, screaming, complaining, crying...
bungie needs to realize that this is a major issue with the game that takes the fun outta of the online play...achieving rank is the fun part to online play..but it's just gotten a bad rap..these kids take things way too seriously...although, we all take it seriously, that's the whole part of competing...if anyone says "it's just a game," they are lying b/c they know they take it seriously as well..
First, they need to create a rank system that isn't as silly as the one in Halo 2....I say, give points to people to get the least deaths with ratio to kills.....meaning, whoever has a better death to kill ratio shall get the most points....BUT, we earn bonus points as a team...so the winner on the winning team shall get the points they deserve...i would explain a more in depth theory opinion to the rank system but sorry...gotta go murder some noobs...
I agree about the death to kill ratio, sometimes the top killer still came out negative (17 kills, 20 deaths) by suicide killings(kamikaze!) etc.
But what if someone had one kill then hid the whole time? thats a pefrect 100% kill to death ratio, but if they didnt contribute anything more than a kill and their team lost, why should they be rewarded?
Now sure, its better than 1 kill and trying for more and dying 30 times, but you can see how debate-able that could become.
