why do people flame so much? i just dont understand...

but anyway...
There will be ranks in halo 3, without ranks there would be no organization in the mathmaking system

and btw (by the way) whoever said why do you care about a number?
Because when you achieve a high rank (34-40) legit it feels good to know that you accomplished something that others cant, so just because some of us cant get that high legit (i am a 36 legit check GT: Nemesis1724, my slayer games are on page 1,2,3) doesnt mean you must flame a person for liking their rank...i love my rank!!! doesnt mean you have to flame me because im good

That's the point, There should be NO MATCHMAKING. BEing able to choose from a list of servers, as well as decide whether or not you want to have the little annoying kiddies in your server is what makes the online aspect of some first person shooters (I.E. GRAW) a totally wicked experience. Also note that some of these games have a ranking system, I know ghost recon does, and it works, because it's a more advanced type of ranking, IE. Kills to Death Ratio.

If bungie doesn't fix this in Halo 3, I'm afraid it'll be just another stupid online shooter that's picked up, and tossed away just as quickly. Because the user feels a lack of control over the types of people they want to play with/against.

Perhaps if they don't get it right, Huxley will satisfy my thirst.

You guys realise that the cheaters don't really cheat for the level, right? They just like pissing people off. They're trolls.

I'd love to have levels still. Everyone knows you don't get anything for having a level but self respect and something to be happy about. If you cheat to get it then you know what you did and it loses the point. It's really everyone else that cares about levels, that's what the cheaters feed off of.

I have more than one account. why? because when i have company over and we want to bust out a game of double team, i can't. simply because you cannot have guests in ranked games. so the extra account helps out a lot and keeps the games fun for me.

you have been humored.

Well if thats the case, how come i have never been cheated in any of the unranked playlists. Team snipers was a safe haven, then it was made ranked. The day it was ranked, I got cheated 3 times in like 7 games. I used to know a modder - Note "used to" - that was so happy when he got his 34. At first I didnt know he was cheating, though i had my suspicions, as he was pretty garbage. He was talking about how happy he was, as the 34 symbol looked "so cool and pro". Shortly after this i found out he had used a freind to mod to level 34, and I quickly removed him from my friends list, not without hurling a little abuse at him ;). Latest I hear is he's a 49. But my point to make after all this babbling about my former friend, which trailed off a little bit, is that most modders cheat to get there level. I agree that some modders cheat to just anger people (i.e The terminal spawn mod ><) but there are very few of these, and even those people probally still do it partly to get a higher level.

well the 360 will be harder to mod and with the nw feedback system it sould be easy to get ppl band. also i would like to say halo 3 will be 15+ game (this is going by uk rateings) and xbox live is strickly 16+ so i think there should be some sort of feedback for ppl being to young. I mean you have the raceists on live and the "noobs" but ultimatly these are 90% children aged 8-14 because they feel powerfull that they can swear at adults without any consiquences. So they really need to be strick with this game to say us all from a fate owrse than death.

They should take into the account of hit%, how much you are hit, and other things, to calculate a hidden rank.

Zerogreenchief is eh pretty cool guy, eh trolls people and doesn't afraid of anything.

i hope they have them then there would be no payoff for MP cmon honestly theres not gonna be an AR for teh 360 so there goes a chunk of the cheaters now all we need to fix is the bridgers & standbyers
