Whooosh. It's gone over my head. I think I need to read it a few more times...
Can someone tell me if I'm interpreting this correctly?
1) Basically, the Precursors created the Forerunner and the Humans. After "long study", the Precursors deemed the Forerunner unfit to uphold the Mantle. When the Forerunner learnt of this resentment, they waged war on the Precursors and won.
2) A few Precursors retreat to another galaxy and create the Flood/infect themselves? Then a gravemind is sent to the galaxy where the Humans discover it. The Gravemind/flood either decides not to infect the Humans or they find a cure.
3) Gravemind is captured or something? Claims to be the last Precursor... yadda yadda yadda.
4) After the Human - Forerunner war, the Flood returns with the sole purpose of eradicating the Forerunner or uniting the Galaxy. Because the Forerunners aren't deemed worthy of carrying the mantle, the Humans were chosen to be tested next and that's why they weren't infected on installation 07?
5) 343 GS made copies of himself. Took over a Human ship and is taking them to the Librarian? Oh, and he was Human.
6) Precursors/Flood/Graveminds more likely to return in Halo 4 to see if the Humans are worthy to uphold the Mantle..?
I literally only finished the book like ten minutes ago. If some of that is really wrong, it's probably because I was reading a few threads on Halo Waypoint.
