"Dear Bungie.net, we regret being stubborn bastards, we regret coming to this forum, and we most definitely regret that Darth Kooky blew up our raggedy-ass opinion!"
So it would be that an end of an era had come to pass. The statistics had been up and running since the days of Halo 2 and were updated on a continual basis for 7 years. The day of reckoning was upon us. March 31, 2012.
The Mayans were right. 2012 would indeed mark the end of the world; Bungie's Halo world. No more could we, the fans, track our Halo Statistics, render our videos, or upload screenshots. Without the BNet's tremendous storage capacities and user-friendly interfaces, there could no longer be a progressive user-content community.
It was with the statement made on the thirty-first day of January that we learned that a great migration must commence. Our only hope was that the Waypoint crew could create a new way to track our content. It was with baited breath that we waited for any news on the matter.
We would always miss the BNet's superiority, lovingly crafted by some of the best people in the industry who had continued to support all tracking of our shenanigans and endless fun over the years. We tipped our hats to those individuals thought they deserved so much more than that.
It would be some time before we returned. Sure we hung around in the forums as it had been our home for so long, but we would really and truly return on the day of the IP's launch. Ready to continue our journey with Bungie, we had made it to the stars. They had always said that they would "See us starside." On that glorious day, we finally did.
