okay first i am sorry if there has been post about this already but i have not seen it all.
the reason i ask this question is that the books say that it continues the offical awarding xbox game. yet i am not sure if it is cause we have not seen the other surviving spartans or whatever the secret mission dr.hasely went on. so what gives?

"In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move." -Douglas Adams

there's no connection whatsoever.

they're just two completely different stories written buy completely different people. out of sheer coincidince they *may* share a few of the same character names and places.

so to answer your question, yes the two are connected.

Curent Games: Gears of War 2, Dead Space, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, The World Ends With You

XBL: KNIGHTOFDRAGONS

There not "exactly" connected but they, more-or-less are. On the level Outskirts, Cortana says something about the Covenant not expecting the Humans and that was they reason they came with such a small fleet. If you read Halo: First Strike, Cortana would already know why it was a small fleet, they blew most of them all up at the Unyielding Hierophant. (Unless Cortana knew that they had more, and wondered why they didn't use those. i.e, the ones at the Unyielding Hierophant)

Omg what are you people talking about?! THE BOOKS ARE COMPLETELY CONNECTED. It all happened during this Halo story! The Flood is just a book version of Halo 1, First strike is what happened between Halo 1-2, and Fall Of Reach is the prelude to Halo 1.

YES, THEY ARE CONNECTED COMPLETELY.

The books and the storyline in the game are one in the same.
The books may be referred to as "canon" according to the proper authorities.
Hopefully someone will come along who is able to express this in a better manner.
