Subject: Community Podcasts

Obviously there has been a lack of Bungie podcasts recently.

Why not have community podcasts? Perhaps with some Bungie interaction in them?

Using the group search led me to something I would like to stick away from for lack of appearing to advertise. Seems to be something in the works though.* Time to call DeeJ.

*Check spawn's post.

Someone was trying to start these up.
I'd be happy to join in.

I like it, the more interactive the community the better.

Didact's Reprisal -
Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

Nah. Something tells me this podcast would claim to represent the community, but would rather just be a tiny friend/group get-together that gets to publicize it in the forums.

Reminds me of the days when the Halo 3 forum was in its prime... everybody would say "Search bar"

God, so annoying, yet so nostalgic.

Thankfully, I don't dislike anybody in that group. Looks like it should turn out well.

That that? Lol, I think you meant hate that.

Adapt was more Reach-era.

Or at least once they have the bungie podcasts back up an running, they should have some call in over Skype, I think that would be amazing.

odmichael did a few...like a year or two ago. It's a really cool idea, the only challenge is finding interesting people who live close enough to do it, unless you can somehow do it over the internet.

You've got to make it interesting, though. Get celebrities and guest stars, come up with some theme music, market yourself, etc. I think it could be an interesting project.

I remember SonicJohn's awhile back. The used a voice call via Skype and talked to members of the community. Wonder if he still has some of them.

Achronos: And what's this about a "design team" I've been hearing? Apparently stosh is so awesome he's now considered a "team".

I'm still waiting for Bathroom Reader Issue 2.

A lot of podcasts I listen to do it through Skype. If they really wanted to, they could also use XBL party chat.

I think Skype would work, not Xbl though, the quality would be far to low.

Google+ Hangouts.

You can have up to 10 people at once and Hangouts on Air (unlimited number of viewers and save the Hangout to Youtube) should be public soon.

Currently, myself and a group of others are in the process of creating a community podcast. We've run into a bit of a roadblock, but are moving ahead none the less. Anyone interested in helping out is more then welcome to shoot me a PM.

Also, and slightly more OT: I think it's a wonderful idea, OP. :P

Join the Bungie Kids Podcast Group!

Listen to our podcast and listen to us talk about the latest Bungie news and Halo: Reach updates!

When I grow up, I want to be just like goofenhour.

Wow, looks like a lot of other people are interested in a community podcast.

In fact, a bunch of regulars at the official Bungie Podcast group got tired of waiting for a new podcast, we decided to make our own podcast. The podcast never really took off (been around for nearly a year and a half) in the community since we are "no-bodies" around these parts. But for some reason we have 7,000-10,000 downloads last we checked, and we got some good reviews (we honestly have no clue who is listening). Our podcast is on iTunes and everything.

Here's a link to the Bungie Kids Podcast on iTunes. If you do want to listen to them, the first few episodes suck, so try listening to the newest one. We definitely aren't the most interesting people in the world, but we enjoy making them.

The show is in a hiatus due to almost there being nothing to talk about, and we ran out of people to interview. But if someone wants to do an interview, we can probably pull out the squad.

Edit: We don't really claim to be speaking for the community, we just talk about Bungie news from the prospect of people from the community. Plus, we just like to screw around and have fun.
