I think (now this is just MY opinion), is that when you go to choose Team Swat, Team Snipers etc. you should be able to choose FFA, 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 5v5, 6v6, 7v7, 8v8 for Swat, Snipers, Slayer etc. as well as possibly Multi-Team for those same playlists I know they already have Double Team and things like that.

But thats just my opinion

The population isn't large enough to accommodate that many different playlists.

Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

I've seen PC games with lesser populations do it.
Successfully. In fact, I've seen PC games with potentially millions of different playlists with small populations succesfully handle it.

Server Browsers...
How many servers potentially come up for any particular combination of filters?
Right now if I go on BFBC2 for the PC, I get at least 20-30 different servers that match my criteria and have people playing in them. What do you think the population is on that game? Not as high as you might think. Considering the cost to afford a computer that can run it to a point that is worth playing multiplayer on it.

And just to make sure you DON"T MISS THE POINT!
Each server is relative to a single playlist.

The biggest mistake Bungie made with their matchmaking and playlist logic... Was in thinking it was a good idea to force everyone to play what the "Majority" wants to play. And limiting everyone to just a handful of playlists. And if you want to get out of their cookie cutter gametypes (if you'd even call them that) you'd have to have an extensive friend list to support it.

I don't know a single person in BFBC2, yet I get to play exactly what I want to play, every time I play it.

And if Halo's matchmaking needs to add a million different playlists to accomplish something comparable to that freedom, then so be it. Who gives a -blam!- about spreading the population out. It beats the hell out of people quitting on you every other game because they are being forced to play something they don't like.

Good point, but it would be nice

Reach as is has way too many playlists, it needs to downsize them, not add more.

but if you must try 343's forums
