Master Chief is sentient.
"Slutona?" HAWT...

Though your Gravemind theory does make sense.

I'm pretty sure in one of the information booklets (might be Conversations of the Universe, not sure because I don't have it nor have I read it) that the Flood were discovered by the Forerunners, they were not created.

I've actually thought of the same thing, with humans being along the lines of forerunners, but not quite along the same path as your theory takes.

This apple is brown, and rotten. This orange on the other hand, is in relatively average shape. So the orange is definitely the preferable option.
----------You can't compare apples and oranges. You're so dumb.

The main thing to combat your theory is

"HSP: The Forerunner inhabit another galaxy.

JS: Well they don't inhabit ours - which is to say something with the power and reach of the Covenant would certainly have found them by now if they did."

JS was the cinimatics director for halo 2. There you go so were not forerunners are we? Second how did life come to be again? Life cannot just evolve from non sentience to a fully sentient being that can travel threw space time in 100,000 years. It would seem as if life was recreated after halo fired and the radiation recceeded. This hints that halo stands for the biblical flood. Hence the flood take the place of our sins. Go read the defintion of a library in the library (Halo xbox forum) forum and read the definions on the top left hand corner overlaping the image. The library stored DNA sequeces of cloned DNA which NOAH ( s'pht ) used to recreate life.

In marathon the s'pht is a race of cyborgs that at a few points question if they are even sentient. (the anwser is there not). They had little biomass and thus halo would not kill them. What is known is that the jjaro a race that vanished from the maraverse molded them into these machines. I believe the jjaro to be a group of angels. In the orginal screens of halo marathon fans pointed out the markings on forerunners doors matched that of markings on s'pht doors in marathon. In marathon we learn the s'pht created a parasite to fight the pfhor ( a race of alien slavers). This parasite was called fungus Zombies. The concept art looked identical to flood and when one thinks about it one realizes the flood are fugnus. They way they spread match that of how fungus infects a host perfectly. Besides that fungus do not need hosts to live they can also take nutrients from the dirt and metal (creating rust which is all over the qurantine zone).

One important thing to note is Dicovered: "no longer concealed"

So if the flood was lsot from the s'pht or hidden when it was refound they were discovered. The s'pht would have survived halo and they could have brought life back to normal after halos radiation recceeded. The eleventh clan were the forerunners.

Aerien is right
they foudn them, not created them

Ghostvirus started off right but i dont end up agreeing with you man

the forerunners seeded us here in earth, thats what the ark is, cause it would take a while for humans to evolve into humans, and a long time like 100,000 thousand years for us to explore space and then we're suppost to start finding this stuff and discover our past and maybe meet up with our grandsires in another galaxy.
