Why is there still armor lock?

Can't we just take out regen from the bubble and switch the two?

Always up for REACH customs!

That would require another Title Update.

so why not just leave out armor lock in its entirety then? Its the most universally disliked aspect of Halo Reach. I have had quite a few friends quit because of AL but never once have I seen an outpouring of hate towards Bubble. It's as if the wrong one was taken out.

I am proud that I am finally negative with the thing, I used to abuse it and now I refuse to use it. AL makes gameplay worse in all playlists.

Armor Lock is still in for vehicles...

I don't know about anyone else, but whenever I played capture the flag I'd use the bubble to defend the -blam!- out of it.

The thing is, sure, armour lock is a major hassle when an entire team uses it, but when an entire team uses DS's, it's a full blown nightmare, and even with regen removed, it's still a nightmare.

And it's a damn shame too, seeing as DS is the only ability that I like, and it was kicked out of MM a long time ago and forgotten in a closet like the majority of Reach.

Or Bomb objectives. 3 players spam shield when they have planted the bomb and the 4th had AL, witch resulted in no way to defuse the bomb.

Awww someone mad cause he can't splatter people without fear of getting AL?

Seriously...I wonder why it's in Slayer modes rather than objective where it probably should be?

I was really hoping that the TU would get rid of AL's ability to destroy vehicles. It's not right that every splatter attempt becomes a gamble of whether or not they'll blow you up with AL. This leads to people avoiding splatters altogether and "playing it safe" by only using the guns, which is not the intended use of vehicles like the Ghost and Revy.

If the AL module was visible like a Jetpack, as they intended it to be early on in development, that would be another story.

The playlists with Armor Lock in them can be avoided. I don't see how this is still a problem.

Learn not to get baited into it. Almost too easy to tell if someone has AL more often than not by how they act.

~ Videogames are my favorite videogames ~

Poor healing bubble, it was pretty cool for teams, other than being abused to shield objectives.
Should've just made two bubbles unable to intersect or go up near each other.

At least it's still in Invasion...for now.

Anyone who plays playlists with Armor lock is bad anyway.

True but my friends and I all play BTB. BTB slayer still has AL, my friend quit until it is taken out.

Would have made sense if one bubble popped another, similar to how the AL emp pops bubbles.

Drop Shield (not Bubble Shield, come on, it's been over a year) was pretty cool in BTB Slayer... not at all game-breaking like in Objective, and it did a great job of making Hemorrhage more survivable on foot. I see no reason why it shouldn't return.

Isn't Slayer the only gametype in BTB with Armor Lock?

Just don't vote Slayer. You can still get kills in objective games.

BTB was just updated with the TU which lessens the issues with Armor Lock. At this point I don't see the use in trying to get it taken out any further. I don't support AL but I also don't want 343 to spend more time on it.

Oh trust me I know how to get away from it. I have written many threads about how to splatter someone that has it - that is not hard to do. It is still overpowered and disrupts gameplay.

Yep, if they're just standing there instead of trying to run away, they're probably baiting you so just hang back and shoot. Also, you can safely attempt splatters if you observe them using a different AA, so try and remember which individual enemies have what abilities even if you're not targeting them right then.
