1. As any of you old-school true Halo fans know, the only thing as far as extreme skill this franchise has possessed (as far as gunskill/reaction time/knowledge) is the pistol. The ability to 3 shot from any distance on any map (and not easily either) made Halo 1 the beautiful tournament-worthy game it was. Do you think they should bring back the Pistol physics for Halo 3? I believe integrated in the beautiful new landscapes and features this game is sure promise, the re-addition of the pistol would make this probably the best FPS ever created.

2. The nades in Halo 1 were by FARRRRRRR better, if you knew how to land them, you could stick them anywhere. If I couldn't see you on Hang em' High, I could throw 2 nades (ACROSS THE MAP) and kill you. The nades in Halo 2 are god awful, you can't suicide drop, you can't bounce them off the map physics as well, you can't launch them for any amount of distance, when you die your nade is cancelled out? WTF IS THAT? That makes alot of sense, if you pull a pin on a grenade and drop it and die in real life, the nade doesnt hurt anybody!!!! ......The nading in Halo 2 just feels unskilled and random.

I'm not just trying to bash Halo 2, I play Halo 2, way more then I should. These are just 2 things about Halo 1 OBVIOUSLY better.

So what do you think guys? Add the pistol and revert the nade physics (and obviously adjust them to fit Halo 3) Or just one? Or none?

Please don't respond to this if you're a Halo 2 fanboy, you don't know anything.

I actually like using the other weapons, it adds variety...

Eh, throwing grenades could use a little improvement from H2...

This is what I'm talking about - someone who likes Halo 1 besides me is still around. I think you should be able to throw nades as far as in Halo 1, the pistol should be back as well as bullet lag (leading your target, that was the whole skill element) although I'm not sure about the explosion of nades. It was wierd how in Halo 1 if you were right ON TOP of the nade, it did the same damage as if you were at the edge of the radius. Although that was good for blowing up vehicles...I think it should be play tested. Give 'em enough pop to actually overturn a hog, and let the MC be able to actually throw them far.

I personally loved Halo:CE, and I like Halo 2 as well. The old 'nades NEED to be brought back, no doubt about it. However, I don't think the pistol should make a return. I do, however, think that the old AR should be brought back, AND that the existing BR should become the new pistol. 3 head-shot kills would bring back everything I loved about the pistol, without the sillyness of the best midrange/all-around weapon being a sidearm.

The pistol doesn't take "extreme" skill.

I think you should stop being a halo:ce fanboy and let bungie do whatever the hell they want with their game.

If you like halo:ce, play halo:ce, if you like halo2, play halo2.

thats a pretty ignorant thing to say, you think you know everything? lol

halo 2 had problems but the pistol in halo 1 was overpowered... it was by far the best weapon in the game. Halo 1 was dominated by the pistol. I really like variety in weapons and i think it adds depth to a game. and aparently so does bungie.

No, I don't know everything, I know a huge amount, but not everything.
One thing I DO know is that Halo 2 fanboys don't know anything :)
And what's wrong with having a weapon be dominating? If it's a starting weapon and takes skill, pfft, why the hell not? It makes the game LESS SITUATIONAL.

It didn't mean that the rockets/sniper in Halo 1 weren't badass, because they were.
Every gun in the game served a purpose. The AR was great for spamming people/hiding in invis, the Plasma Rifle was BEAUTIFUL with the way it slowed MC down. The shotgun was devastating in close combat, the Rocket physics were 10x better, and the sniper was godly BUT IT TOOK SKILL, the plasma pistol and the needle were awful (moreso the needler then anything else) but still fun to use :)

But yes why use all of those weapons when the Pistol could kill in three shots and it wasnt that hard to get off said 3 shots...

(10:19:49 PM) Scruss: oh and pezza, i saw what you did to that cat
(10:20:17 PM) Pezza: You were the one with the video camera breathing heavily. Of course you saw.

i'm a fanboy of both games. I think the nades could use a litte umph, the pistol? If they have the Battle Rifle in Halo 3 then i don't see why not. But they need to make it 4 shots and less accurate.

I could take out a person with a pistol with any of the afermentioned weapons at any time during the game. The sniper is more powerful, IF you can use it. The Rocket is obviously "better" then the pistol, the Plasma Rifle was more useful for close quarter maps if you knew how to be stealthy and your opponents were at a place where close combat could be initied, the shotgun was good for guarding portals, and amazing on certain maps....they all had their uses. You just had to know how to use them.

Oh yes, because endless pistol wars on hang em high was somehow fun.
I just love gameplay that isn't "situational." No matter where you spawn, what you do, you will always fight the enemy with your pistol.

This will sound like blaspheme, but here it is. On halo:ce, I used to make the AR the starting weapon in my gametypes. *gasp!*

My only problem with the battle rifle is that it's too slow paced. The regeneration of health (shields) in this game is so fast and it shoots so slow. It doesn't make for reaction time (a huge part of the skill of a gamer) I'm just asking for a game with speed. Speed makes intensity. Intensity creates sinful fun :)

The pistol in Halo 1 was too overpowered. It's just wrong to be able to kill a sniper from ACROSS THE MAP with a friggin SIDEARM. Just so you know: one weapon dominating the game does not constitute balance.

Keep the Battle Rifle in, with the H2 pistol (mabye make it more powerful). And Halo 1 grenades should come back, definately.

Then stop shooting and throw a grenade and then start firing at them and if you pull the trigger rapidly then you will find the gun shoots at a good pace...

Just because you like something doesn't mean everyone does...

If I ever played a person who would just spawn and start shooting at me with his pistol and NEVER pick up a new weapon, they would be destroyed. You can't just use the pistol, you have to learn the versatality of the other weapons in the game.

In about 3 out of every 4 Halo games I played, the pistol was always the primary or secondary weapon for any one person in the match...

I normally ran, Sniper/Shotty or Sniper/Pistol...

Ok, maybe I'm the only one who gets this.
Halo 1 was VERY BALANCED, if you didnt use the other weapons, the shotgun, the plasma rifle, the rocket, the sniper.
YOU
WOULD
BE
TERRIBLE
It's not a hard concept people, Halo 1 was balanced, it took skill, maybe it took too much skill for you defenders of Halo 2.
