K/D doesn't mean anything. It's a decent indicator of approximate skill, but is, by no means, a guaranteed way to determine someone's skill. Let me use myself as an example. I am sitting on a K/D of 0.9; not that great when compared to others, but definitely not as bad as other people. However, in my past 25 multiplayer games, my K/D has been above 1.00 in the vast majority of my games (everyone has bad games). My point is that although it can be an indicator, it is not an automatic label and should not be treated as such.
