K/D doesn't mean anything. It's a decent indicator of approximate skill, but is, by no means, a guaranteed way to determine someone's skill. Let me use myself as an example. I am sitting on a K/D of 0.9; not that great when compared to others, but definitely not as bad as other people. However, in my past 25 multiplayer games, my K/D has been above 1.00 in the vast majority of my games (everyone has bad games). My point is that although it can be an indicator, it is not an automatic label and should not be treated as such. It's an automatic label if it's below .9
Nothing about K/D matters. It just entertains those people who want to know how the system thinks of them. I have a 1.26 K/D and I know that I'm better than that. I at least get over a 1.5 every game that I play now. Yes, everyone has their bad games where they don't get their 1.5, but usually that game is against an XBLive party of four that are skilled enough to go against almost anyone and at least put up a good fight, if not, win every time. So don't get so worked up over some score that a computer generated for your name. It's just a number.
