Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

OMG I WILL

But seriously, I can't imagine this making anyone upset unless they have no life outside of Halo and their pumped stats are the only thing they have to show for in their otherwise completely meaningless lives.

And in that case, they deserve to be upset every once in a while.

It suggests that the game forums might disappear as well. As in the very thing you're posting on right now will. A lot of memories here... Definitely for someone that has been here as long as you have. I'm assuming you will be a tad sad when it comes.

Meh. Forums have moved before. Besides, most of the people associated with those "memories" are long gone.

Last member of the i4Ni clan.

there's really nothing on these forums that happens anymore except one of the last definitive archives of hpc/ce/h2v troubleshooting.

ooh no, I'm scared.

First of all, it's more about the ending of something we all spent a great deal of time on. It's the sentimental part of it. It's sad to see it go away, even though we know all things must come to an end. Even people who no longer post here often will be a little sad to hear about it closing.

Secondly, it's so of hypocritical to act like it doesn't matter to you that these forums will go away if you pay attention to them enough to post on it once a day on average. If you really couldn't care less that it's going then apparently you wouldn't spend your time around here. You would think you've actively gone to find something else you're more interested in.

From the article, I was under the impression that these forums would remain, and always would.

It said that all the Halo related data would be archived. That could mean the forums as well.

There was a reply by DeeJ on the official thread that went like this:

what about the forums? and our nameplates?

This question has come up several times. As of the final crossover, you will no longer be able to manage that here. We are unable to comment on what functionality 343 will provide on that front.

That suggests to me that the forums won't be here... Unless he just skipped over the question about the forums which I doubt.

It seems to me that he is replying to the question regarding the nameplates, only.

That's what I said he might be doing, but it seems odd that he doesn't clarify that in the post. It's also odd that he would just skip over the part about the forums while keeping it in the quote.

Just because I hang out on a forum doesn't mean I'm gonna cry myself to sleep every night if it goes away. Nothing hypocritical of that. Apathetic, maybe, but not hypocritical.

I'm not saying you're going to be crying yourself to sleep. I'm saying that it will change things (No matter how small) around in your life and will probably have some amount of sadness on you due to sentimental value. Apparently it means something if you're still around. If not then why aren't you spending your time with something that does?

LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOO

No forum is important enough to "change things around my life." Except for OCR maybe, but that forum involves an aspect of me that's more important than a single game.

No matter how small, DusK. The fact you're spending any time on this forum daily means that when it's gone things will change for you. That change might be small, but it will be a change. Speaking frankly, it seems you spend more time on here than you're trying to imply you do.

Doesn't mean it's nearly as important as you seem to think it is. Hell, the MAW Clan forums were easily a board I spent more time on, and I had no trouble chucking that behind me. Didn't really "change" anything tbh.

-_-' I keep saying this over and over again. No matter how important it is, it will be a change. That change might be small, but it's still a change. It's not necessarily something that's going to be hard to get over, but it will be a change.

It may not be a bad change.

How often is anything positive accomplished around the game forums anymore?

In any case, I'm about 80% sure the forums will not go.

Just recently we had very successful/fun game nights. Those were very positive accomplishments.

They might have had better turnouts if co-ordinated via more active forums.

This is actually the stupidest thing ever posted on B.net:

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

Wait...Bungie has stats and service records for Halo PC and Halo 2 Vista?

Like I said, the Halo PC game night was very successful. There was no need for a "more active forum" in this case. It's about having game nights with the community that resides here, not another forum/group.

We're talking about the possibility of the Halo forums coming to a close. :P
